They already have signed a QB during the Early Signing Period to go along with a QB from last years recruiting class and a returning starter or two(?) Might want to focus on players who can contribute next season when Missouri, the one that beat Ohio State, come to town.

UMass has offered two freshmen from Springfield Central. QB Jareth Staine Jr. and RB Isaiah Rogers. Staine also has scholarship offers from BCand UConn. This is Roger’s’ 1st offer.

Considering Josh Wallace’s performance, I’d lean towards us being poachable. NIL money in the P5 is ridiculously more than we can provide. I also think a lot of the players now have leverage to use the portal to negotiate NIL deals or at least find out their potential value.

I was thinking the same thing. No sooner had KLA entered the portal and he was heading to Ohio State.

Yeah, same on the hoops side with Davis... seemed like he went into the portal and the next day committed to ODU.

How does this happen that fast unless conversations are already in-flight? I thought that there were rules about schools talking to players already on a team?

That was a 4 day turnaround which is not a shocking turnaround time these days. Pretty normal college basketball stuff with Davis IMO - don't think tampering was involved there.

He was already on the OSU radar from his first foray into the portal. Players can reach out to collectives on their own to see what they might be worth.
