There are 130 FBS programs and each has approximately 12 coaches and only 1 is the HC, so there are many coaches who want to be a FBS HC and only 130 jobs…..not exactly following John Wooden!! Beat a non-FBS team next year and you’re heading toward a contract extension and a second country club membership!!

Failed to keep opponent under 30. Use to eat teams like this for lunch years ago.

Whip got run out of town after back-to-back 4-8 seasons. No one is going to be happy until UMass is .500 or better and bowl eligible. I expect that a lot of the coaches/coordinators rising up through the ranks will wait for a better opportunity rather than take the worst available HC job in the subdivision and risk derailing his career. Charley Molnar went from OC at Notre Dame to position coach at Idaho after two 1-11 seasons here.

Calipari took over at the absolute worst basketball period in my life. I’m hoping we find somebody that sees the potential here. More than BC and UConn combined.

It was this time 3 years ago we beat BYU 16-10.

I’m 60, we’re at the level of non-scholarship FCS and having a bad season.

Rock bottom yes and not being in a conference is a real killer. Turning down the MAC all sports may have been the death knell for UMass football. I don't mean to be so negative but it is what it is. How this program has gone from respectable 1AA to pitiful FBS joke is beyond sad.

What we should do is after we get a new coach we should get away from the money games, or maybe just 2, and play schools that are close to us until we can rebuild the program.

“When you’re a competitive person, you don’t like losing,” Miller said. “But all week I’ve been talking about being a family. I never once talked about winning or losing, and we’re going to continue to talk about that.” Alex Miller after the game.

Love Miller and want him to succeed but this quote is weird and it showed how the team performed today. Maine wanted to win and UMass looked like it was going through motions. Why even play the game if it isn't about winning???? Just hand out participation trophies if winning or losing doesn't matter. I hope they bring in a coach who WANTS to talk about winning or losing!

Up 10-0 then you give up 35 unanswered points indicates you're going through the motions. Team has given up and is OK with losing. They expect to lose and it's no big deal. We're back to "culture" and "APR".
