Memorial Day weekend next year is going to be phenomenal with National Championship games in Football and Basketball.. Of course this could also be the weekend the Super Bowl is played. I expect first game will be Feb 27th or March 6th.

We may see some strange things for Spring of 2021 with perhaps a one semester hiatus from regular conferences mainly for lesser sports travel purposes.. Cuse, BC, WV, and Pitt back to the Big East? Penn St, Rutgers and Temple back to A10 Notre Dame finally in Big Ten?

Wow - feels like a way to lose even more $$ for these Universities. ND will ALWAYS be able to cut the best dea, if there is one to be done,

Army second, and can probably shop around as the other 'name brand'.

Key aspects - any hope for a profitable gate given social distancing? IMO - no.

TV? De minimus.

Sadly, by July 30th, my view is that D1 Fall sports are at least on hiatus until Spring 21.

CAA canceling the 2020 season. This means no Albany @ UMass game as well.

^ There has been an update. Individual schools can decide if they want to play OOC games so the Albany game is still possible.

BREAKING: Local sources are telling me
@BruceFeldmanCFB's report is true that CAA plans to suspend football this fall...but the conference has authorized that individual schools can still pursue a fall football schedule

JMU is trying to play as an Indy as long as playoffs would still be on.

I do not see any college football this fall because there is no way to keep players and coaches safe. Forget about having fans in the stands. The only consideration should be safety. With that said, this might be the biggest opportunity ever once the dust settles. The big conferences playing a conference only scheduled focusing on their region could bring a new alignment. FCS football is going to be badly damaged by this. FBS football should overcome this. I would love to see from the ashes of this mess a new Yankee Conference.

It appears the Power 5 forced the NCAA to kick the can down the road.

so SEC has conference only, will Auburn have to pay UMass? If not that is 5% of a 40m budget, we're in BIG trouble as a department.

It's a problem young man. But as posted in the media that UMass Athletic budget has been trimmed by 4.5-5m. There may be additional adjustments in the next few weeks as more is know. Or something like that from the papers. We are also not paying 250k to UAlbany for our buy game. It is still significant 1.65m net.

Personally have done my part with 50% donation to the Gridiron club and 50% unrestricted, all sports.
