Without widespread testing to confirm very/very low risk of infection, or a highly viable vaccine comes into play quickly, it is hard to imagine normal in athletics anytime soon, a shame.

And, I think all of the sports are playing 'chicken' as to who presses forward first, professional or college.

The best bet for me is Professional golf - yawn - without a gallery of fans. And lots of fresh air.

Next? Another 'yawner' tennis. Samy same.

Without fans - NBA or NHL. But there will still be 2-3 hundred folks producing/supporting each event. Assume masks and gloves.

With fans - MLB or NFL. Mostly held outdoors with great airflow. But with significant restrictions as to attendance and seating arrangements.

We are all bored with our entertainment options. Unfortunately, sports seem to be a laggard to come back full bore.

NFL draft next week is the big deal? Yawn, but it is what it is these days.

Be safe and well.

Stay safe.

So, do you think we have the NFL?

It's possible, but I think it occurs without fans.
I'm trying to wrap my head around watching a big time college football game or NFL game with no fans in attendance. It is going to be an absolutely bizarre experience.

I know, it will be very strange. Same for the players too.

For me, I'll just think of it as if I was watching a 2004 UMass Basketball game.

Haha, very true. Us UMass fans are used to social distancing at football and basketball games.

According to an article on the FB blog we have only 67 scholarship players on the team and a total of 90 - 95 players total.

guessing a good number of the non scholly players are preferred walk ons and others hoping to earn at least a partial ride. hope that can happen for at least some of them.

Div 1 Football doesn’t have partial rides. Either full schools or none.

That's funny but 2015-2016 attendance was worse by 500 per game........ and 2016-2017 was worse by even more.

Who was in charge then...... ?????
