I think opponents have been pretty "sportsmanlike" this season overall. As embarrassing and lopsided as most of these scores have been you know they took their foot off the gas and inserted a lot of second and third string players.

honest question, what are peoples opinions of Walfish, seems to be a cheerleader to me
Yes, he's trying to keep a good relationship with Bell. Makes me miss Matty V, who was always honest and straightforward in my view.
Lol. Vautour was a clown too, his biggest problem being not knowing whether the ball was full of air or stuffed.

You posted on here!!! You are correct on a lot of your views on UMass football but Matty V is not a "clown."

Attendance was only 10,184. Very low for a band day crowd.

He doesn't know jack about football and he's lazy. To me that equals a clown.

Matt was and is very well respected by the overwhelming majority of UMass fans of all sports.
"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."

Coach Bell on some of the big plays yesterday and blown coverages:
“[Blown coverages] were exactly what they were,” Bell said. “That’s when you know you have a few problems there, when it’s that easy to see. It’s just the same thing, ready to go back to work, excited to go back to work.”
Yikes. I'd like my coach to be able to identify problems that aren't that easy to see. Someone who sees more subtle issues that not every Joe Schmo in the stadium can identify. I don't get the warm and fuzzies for this guy yet, we'll see if his recruiting classes can turn this thing around.

The presumptive rumor among sources is that Bell and his young assistants are in way over their heads from a coaching/teaching respective. The statement he made post game about things not working out and that " it hurts" are indications things are starting to crumble!

It seems for sure that the dbs have been taught incorrectly. Not just scheme but one on one fundamentals.

Question: It appears that neither Curtis nor Fallon were in uniform for yesterday's game. Anyone got anything?

Hugh Freeze exploited weaknesses in the scheme. Not blown coverage. Same play worked repeatedly.

Bell didn't want anyone capable of playing the QB position to be able to go into the game.

Give Bell 2 recruiting classes and we shall see. He has verbals from 17 or 18 and a lot of them are JC players and should fit right in. Big linemen in the mix. We just got to be patient because he was left an empty basket.
