we are real bad. A long way to go to be a decent team.

Even with the recruiting class, if they all actually sign on the dotted line, this is a 3-4 win team max next year. Bell’s stubbornness with the awful, hurry-up offense when we have the worst defense in FBS is ludicrous. The special teams coaching confounds me. We have a guy who used to be able to punt the ball a mile, and now we have him doing some kind of rugby type kick that he clearly isn’t comfortable with and often results in a terrible punt. That onside kick attempt was a real beauty. Everyone knows this team has few if any horses, and the issue is magnified by the coaches doing things that make it even more difficult to compete. That’s what I’m seeing.

I stand corrected. It was 1885.

The record for most points allowed in a season is 423 (15 games) in 1998. With 5 games left in the season, that record will surely fall. UMass has given up 349 points in its first 7 games.

Don’t worry. Everything is fine. In his post game interview, Bell said the team played with “great energy” and he threw Curtis under the bus without mentioning his name.

Even their announcers said it should be targeting.
