Re: 2019 Season
Glad they were able to get a deal in place and keep the games on linear TV locally. Unfortunate that the Akron game is going to air on tape delay though. Why not just move the kickoff back to 5:30 to accommodate TV?

Re: 2019 Season
Perhaps Akron's travel schedule best fits a 3:30 pm kickoff.

Gotta give props to the athletic dept. for this. Love having all the home games on NESN.Berkman wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2019 7:21 am TV announced for the FB games:

Except for when you can't watch the game live and you DVR it and then NESN cuts to Red Sox/ Bruins / Patriot / Celtics coverage mid game and changes the UMass game to another channel. DVR doesn't change channels with it... best feeling everQuann wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2019 1:40 pmGotta give props to the athletic dept. for this. Think Northwestern is only game without start time.TruBluMaroon wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2019 7:55 pm Home Game Kickoffs Set

Re: 2019 Season
This an all sports issue with networks, for example Fox and MLB sometimes move games to fs1 or fs2, Espn bumps games to espn news etc. the fact that nesn has two channels in New England is a huge bonus over nbcsports Boston (Comcast).UMass'96 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2019 3:06 pmExcept for when you can't watch the game live and you DVR it and then NESN cuts to Red Sox/ Bruins / Patriot / Celtics coverage mid game and changes the UMass game to another channel. Re: 2019 Season
At least you guys have access to NESN and NESN + probably as part of your regular options.I don't have the option and have to depend on streaming on the UMass athletic site and pay extra for it.
Re: 2019 Season
While it is great that UMass has a tv deal, doesn't that impact folks actually attending the game? We'll be able to figure out the economics based on the quality and frequency of ads. If we see a lot of 'UMass hotel 'ads, my bet is that UMass is losing a lot of live bodies in the stadium.

Re: 2019 Season
I've always wondered the same thing but assumed that revenue generated by TV off-set the lack of attendance...

I won't be able to give you an answer to this as I'll be at the games.

Your local cable provider doesn't have some type of "regional sports" package? My grandparents in Florida have NESN (unsure about NESN+) as part of their DirecTV package.
