Liam Coen who was my personal first choice to be the new HC at UMass, has been hired to be the new OC at Boston College.
And, no. Unsure if he had a change of heart, or whether the official report was wrong, but he's staying with the Rams (for now).

The difference between a small school and P% salaries is enormous.

Satterfield received a six-year contract worth $3.25 million per year with a $5 million buyout at Louisville.

Was earning $750k at App St. Looks like a similar contract that Bell received.

I was also hoping for Haraasymiak, but I think he was done in as an option by Maine's success in the FCS Playoffs. Suspect Bamford knew they needed a fairly quick hire for both player retention and recruiting. Given his track record, I'll trust the AD.
Haraasymiak and #7 seed Maine beat # 2 seed Weber State today to advantage to the FCS semi's. Extremely impressive

Wow. He's been at Michigan for a long time for him... Brown was looking burned out as a head coach his last year or so at UMass but maybe he got his fire back.

Temple should just hire the Maine coach.

Looks like the new Temple coach will be Manny Diaz, DC at U of Miami.

He’s gonna need to recast the turnover chain into a T!

For those of you who wanted Harasymiak, it appears he was a candidate but didn't make it past initial screening.

I like what I've read so far about Bell and I hope he has great success here. I just have to pray we don't have another Charley Molnar over Neal Brown situation.
Harasymiak was contacted by administrators from University of Massachusetts and James Madison University about their coaching jobs, which subsequently were filled.

“I did have an initial conversation with each school, but it went no further than that,” Harasymiak said. “That’s all it was.”

^ Maybe it was a timing issue and we couldn't wait until Maine's season was over.

It was a timing issue. Wish we could get him as DC. Salary would be double what he's making at Maine (150k vs at least 300k at UMass). Doubt he would leave to be the DC at UMass but you never know...Really did want him to be the next head coach. Oh well, go Bell!

Harasymiak was just hired to P.J. Fleck's staff at Minnesota.

He'll be an assistant there, not a DC (the current DC previously was at Maine under Cosgrove).

I'm not convinced of either, he just jumped at the chance to be a lower level assistant (albeit at a higher level program) - I think we (ie our AD) just didn't have as much interest in him. He may ultimately be a great head coach or coordinator at the FBS level, but the fact of the matter is up to this point he hasn't had sustained success as a head coach at the FCS level, he basically had one really good year, which was still impressive given what he was working with and enough to make him a candidate of interest for either HC or coordinator, but not enough to make him a slam dunk favorite.

Harasymiak took the job as the DBs coach. Can't remember any successful FCS head coach taking an FBS job as a position coach. I guess his buddy being the defensive coordinator at Minnesota had a lot to do with the move.

^Seems to be a really strange move. Money must be better, but I'd have to guess he'd be closer to a FBS HC gig at Maine (especially with the bulk of their starters coming back next season) than as DB's coach at an average P5 school.

Anyone that thought Neal Brown was an option... West Virginia has hired him as their next HC after Dana Holgerson bolted a few days ago.
