Former GSU HC Tyson Summers was fired after UMass defeated GSU 55-20 last season. Chad Lunsford replaced Summers and he has done okay so far. They have a nice Soph QB Shai Werts and judging by the box score they like to run the football .... ALOT. This game should be a tough challenge for UMass but hopefully we will be up foe the challenge. Good opportunity to go on the road in a hostile environment and come out with a much needed W.

Any idea if we have any other football games in the next month that will be on ESPN+? I was planning on subscribing for basketball, but I don't need to do that until December.

I checked the schedule on the Athletic Site and it looks like this is the only one. I think that you can get a free 7 day trial but not sure.

I was hoping for a free trial, but also know the year subscription is only 50.

This is a tad depressing:‏

Eagles have won 21 straight non-con home games since 2006, while UMass is 1-21 in non-con road games since moving to FBS in 2012.

11 of these are vs Savannah State. They also played teams like Howard a few times. They lost to UNH last year, but it was neutral site. My guess is if they played SEC teams their record would be similar.

Rodgers will be back. Of course, this team won't throw double digit passes, but still good to have him. It would be better to have OLB Addo back, but that seems unlikell (News from the Fight Mass. board)

Spoke to one of Addo's relatives at the BC game and that person indicated that he was suspended for four games.

Four games is what I have heard as well for Addo

Suspended for 1/3 of the season? That's insane!

I know a kid who's friend ended up getting jumped by a group of players a while back. They ended up dislocating/breaking his jaw.. could be related..
As for the game.. it's not a must win but it's close because I think theres about a 90% chance we lose our last 2 games.. that means we need to go 5-3 over the other 8 games. Not a lot of room for error.

My keys to today's game: SCORE SCORE and SCORE some more on offense. As for defense, play solid, no missed assignments and create turnover opportunities. Lastly, someone needs to breaks Whipple's headset and have anyone else call the offense!

A perfectly kicked field goal. Am I really watching the Minutemen?
