Pats post mordem.. the real winner is Umass

Post by stevemaz » Fri Sep 08, 2017 6:20 am

Not sure why I think everything is linked to Umass, but last night's Pats game, which may indicate that the end may be near for that dynasty, will have an effect. I think part of the problem (besides the obvious lack of winning) of generating fan interest is the fact that people just don't have enough time to dedicate to two football teams. I believe as the Pats fade, Umass will rise. I for one already care more about Umass football than I do the Pats and I never would have ever thought this could be the case.

Do you have constant visions of vertically challenged people riding tricycles in your head all the time?

Too bad we didn't stay in the MAC. We may have been able to say we held Kareem Hunt under 250 yards.

As a matter of fact, we did, twice. 2014 Kareem rushed for 198. 2015 he put up 90 but we still gave up 265 rushing yards.

What's a "post mordem"?
Raise the bar, do the minimum.

It's how a guy who says he would get into UMass today, but that I would not spells "mortem".

If one reads Dan Ventura's piece in today's Herald about downward rates of participation in football in New England at all levels, one might conclude that by the time UMass (hey, stevemaz, its UMass, not Umass) rises, there will be little or no football in New England.

My friend, 78, has already written about how he is looking forward to tailgating at quiddich matches. I wonder if season ticket holders will have to pay to park.

Sorry guys, I will ensure proper spelling and grammar from now on.

78, you probably couldn't get in today mainly due to being a grade A douche bag. Virtually, every comment I see of yours, I wonder what is the matter with this loser.. Try having a hot take once in awhile instead of ripping others who try to liven up this board.

Here's a hot take...UMass is never getting into the Big Ten. Your fantasies do bring a great deal of levity to the board.

I love stevemaz's optimism! People(supposed UMass fans) said and believed mostly very dire outcomes about the future of UMass hoop in the late 70's and 80's. Being vehemently optimistic and fanatical is part of being a FAN for some of us. Stay positive Steve and keep the crazy pipe dreams coming. No one really knows what the future holds and all bets are possible. 😜
