5 wins: Hawaii, Coastal Carolina, Ohio, Georgia Southern, Maine. Hawaii is the key game imo. Sets the tone for the season. Win that and we have a lot of confidence going down to Coastal Carolina. Lose that game and it could be very deflating.

They aren't getting to the b1g doing that!

baby steps. 7 wins and a bowl is one in the right direction. 2018 is going to be the key year.

Actually this season is a big one. Another 3 win campaign and the anti-football crew is going to get even louder (and heard); people like that ass-hat Max will start making more sense to the masses.

They need to move the needle this year. Shitty stadium aside, the infrastructure is in place with a roster that is FBS sized finally and has some experience, and the lingering stink of Molnar is now fully extinguished.

Nobody (at least no reasonable person) is expecting a bowl this season; however, 4 or 5 wins [at worst] and competitive in most of the losses is the bar. This is a great mix of winnable games and P5 exposure games. UMass needs to represent. There are other schools who have been FBS for equal or less time and already had more success than Umass and don't think people are not aware of this.

4 wins seems like a reasonable expectation. This team and the program has improved incrementally each season since Whip returned. I expect to see that continue.

One of the biggest reasons for our lack of success so far can be traced directly to the shape Morris left us with. Then you have the ridiculous two first seasons when we moved up.

Bad recruiting those first two years. Somewhere I read that we should have brought in at least 15 JC kids with size and experience to make the move up have any kind of chance of early success. Whip has had a lot to overcome to get us in shape to to competitive.

APP St. for one was in a lot better shape when they moved up so that is one reason they have done so well.

I'm hoping for 5 wins, but expect 3 based on past experience.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

3 or 4 wins but much more competitive in every game than ever before. GO UMASS!

I want to say 5. However, I will take 3-4 wins if one of them happens to be one of the big guys on our schedule.

I don't think think Morris left us in good shape, but I put the blame much more squarely on Molnar. He destroyed the culture and jettisoned virtually all the veterans and sacrificed a bunch of 18 year olds, so his players could play. The reason 18 year olds played? Your reasoning, no transfers from JUCO. But, don't forget we were only two years removed from playing well at Michigan. We had some size, not speed, that was shown the door when CM showed up.

I also think he turned off a lot of people with that "Big Boy Football" speech he gave. What a condescending statement to the fans, the administration, and all of the returning players.

After seeing Saturday night, two wins. Will not be surprised if they lose to Maine at Fenway.

Hate to say this (and i love UMass): lose Saturday to Coastal and I think we win maybe 1 game. Maybe 0 and I don't think we have ever gone winless before.

I'm down to 2, and that may be a stretch. If Breneman is out for any period of time, the over/under would be 0 --
