Going to try real hard to make this one. Who all is headed to Tampa for the 10/14 game?

I'll be there with my brother-in-law. Still disappointed that the Pats are in Tampa the week prior to this game; it would have made for quite a week down in Tampa.

Post-Irma, anyone else hear anything about USF with potential conference support possibly offering to buy this game out. No clue whether there's any truth to it or if it's just a BS rumor, just heard the possibility from a former USF athlete. He mentioned USF's rush to fly back to Tampa versus playing at UConn and staying in Connecticut was to prepare for their game with Illinois this weekend. Similarly, chasing a BCS bowl game and playing an equal number of conference games may be motivation to proposed buying out UMass. Sounds crazy, but Harvey and Irma impacts on schedules may contribute to some crazy stuff. Guess it would have to be a pretty big check!

I'm not sure what that would accomplish without a whole lot of schedule shuffling. UConn plays at Temple (league game) that same day.

UConn's bye is next week, but Temple plays USF on Thursday.

Temple's bye is Oct. 28, when UConn is supposed to host Missouri. Would UConn buy out that game, move the Temple game to Oct. 28, thus allowing UConn and USF to play Oct. 14? I suppose it's possible, but logistically I can't see it being done.

Does that mean we can't possibly go 0-12?

No, since FIU is being added to the schedule as the 12th game.

Afterall, the challenging to believe rumor wasn't BS. However, there may not be 12 potential losses if FIU makes it into CUSA's 12/2 championship game. Alas, the best record could conceivably be only 8-3 and worst record could potentially only be 0-11.

Bummer. I get it, but disappointing none the less. Going to have to cancel the flight now.

Very interesting. I did note yesterday that "I'm not sure what that would accomplish without a whole lot of schedule shuffling" ... but obviously that's what was going on behind the scenes. Getting seven schools to completely alter travel plans and such on a month or so notice couldn't have been an easy task.

Kudos to Bamford for helping the AAC get this done, because it wouldn't have otherwise been possible without UMass' cooperation.

Definitely good to get in some bonus points with the AAC conference...now we just need a viable product on the field and a better stadium.

Two Week Bye could also indicate a time to move on from the current head coach and allow an interim time to work with the team and game plan for the second half of the season.

Wonder if there are any teams in the north that have an open date one of those weeks that would like fill in?
