2018 Recruiting

All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

5-11 189lb DB...? Are you sure that "DB" wasn't a typo and should not read "K"?69MG wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2018 3:28 pm Grad transfer from UConn coming.

#UMass has added a grad transfer from rival UConn as East Longmeadow's Brice McAllister, a 5-11 189 defensive back joins the #Minutemen. Played high school ball for E Longmeadow for one year before moving to Suffield Academy in CT.
Re: 2018 Recruiting
^ Not sure what you mean. Our cornerbacks ranged from 5'9 - 6'1 and our safeties were from 5'10 - 6'1. This is pretty average size for a DB.

Re: 2018 Recruiting
From the 247 Sports, Fight Massachusetts board,
Would love to get one or BOTH of these guys. Would be a huge steal for the football program...Allen, any updates on Jefferson and his recruitment?
Mike have you heard anything?
I haven't heard anything myself, but that could be a "no news is good news" situation for UMass. I know they genuinely like where they stand with him, and we haven't heard much else from him on these schools he was waiting on, at least not publicly. Jefferson isn't a huge announcing offers guy so we may not see if the ACC did in fact come calling, but there haven't been any updates as of yet.
Jefferson was having some issues getting qualified, as was Okechukwu, which is why UMass remains in the picture perhaps more than they normally would. Minutemen can take academic redshirts, P5 schools can't (at least not to the best of my knowledge).
Save your breath... you'll need it to blow up your date

Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades

Re: 2018 Recruiting
According to the FB blog we got a verbal from Michael Sullivan from Norwood MA, a 6 - 6 305 OL.

Here is an article on rumored UMass commit Helber Fagundes 6’5” OL from Everett, MA high school.

Re: 2018 Recruiting
I love that those two linemen are from local high schools. Giant dudes.
Re: 2018 Recruiting
Also love the fact that they're bringing in some serious size on the OL. The new strength coaches must like the looks of who they'll have to work with.

R&G
I love it as well that we got two very good MA HS players and they are from two very good football producing HS.
Sounds as if their best days are in front of them for both of these young men.

Re: 2018 Recruiting
While watching the Dayton game they made an announcement that 11 Sports would be doing a FB signing show from UMass starting at noon. However I have not seen if there would be a streaming link on the athletic site for all to pick up and watch. Has anyone heard anything about a stream being available?
