Can't believe there is no chatter the day before the game. Wish the long range weather forecast earlier in the week was good but after the pipeline bringing the gas up to our area was shut down there was no way I was going to go. Gas prices are up to 2.59 all around here compared to 2.12 when I filled both of our cars last Friday. One of the workers at the recycling center I spoke with this morning said they were up to 2.75 in his area. NC declared a state of emergency over the gas prices.

^ So you are not going to support the Minutemen over $10 more on your gas expense?

Not at those gas prices when it is a 4 hour drive each way. Also the weather forecast has been for calling for 60 % thunderstorms for the Conway Sc area. We just a tornado warning for our area that will last until 10 PM tonight. As I said in an earlier post we are looking to go to the Tenn game later in the season.

I need to get gas later, tank is just under 1/4. My foot hurts. Might go out to dinner later. I like to go out to dinner on Fridays. Especially since I don't go to the Sports Luncheons anymore.

Tomorrow, I'm getting a haircut. My son, who works in Vegas, got one last week. He said it came out good.

I check them at least twice a day mostly to keep track of the obituaries and any interesting articles. Have quite a few elderly friends back in the Berkshires. The only problem with their articles is that you can only read 5 for free each month unless you pay a subscription fee.

Whips record in his second stint here says he has lost 13 of his 37 losses by a td or less. I think he'll find a way to blow this one too!

Phil Steele called UMass (-2.5) his pick of the week this week. Went into a little detail about last year's team. He had them ranked 110th in "experience", and despite going 2-10, they played 4 games against P5 schools, and trailed by a TD or less in the second half of all four games. He said UMass is dramatically improved this year, ranking 55th in experience.

Liked the pub from Steele, but we need to see some W's on the field!

Steele ahead of the curve nationally for sure. Umass was quietly getting it together last year and while last week was huge disappointment (we were one play away from winning) the team is obviously improved and moving in the right direction. 2018 and 2019 going to be among the best seasons in Umass history and may be the best two..

^^ maz - Give me a buzz when we exceed the 1963 undefeated record. We outscored the other guys 265-12.

Or, we do better than the 12 wins in 1998 for that matter.
