^ If the deal is with Eleven Sports I don't think you'll see it on any other cable networks. I could be wrong but I think the only other way you'll be able to have access is via streaming on our website.

But this is just a guess on my part and once we hear an official announcement I'm sure it will be a lot clearer.

Eventually converting some of those casual fans to UMass fans.
Winning will only do that.

And we should get confirmation of that UH/UMass game shortly. Likely means that it would be on PPV in Hawaii.

So sounds like a better broadcast deal for our away fans than the home fans

FYI We are not alone in finalizing agreements as CAA Football is in a similar situation.
BALTIMORE — The Colonial Athletic Association is nearing a media rights agreement for football, league commissioner Joe D’Antonio said Tuesday.

D’Antonio, now in his second year with the conference, said the CAA is negotiating with both CBS Digital and Twitter.

“We anticipate announcing some type of package with either or both of those entities,” D’Antonio said. “What we’re trying to do is be as progressive as we possibly can and evolve with the times.

“I don’t think it’s any secret right now that more and more people daily are getting their content on mediums that are different than the conventional television.”

League associate commissioner for football Brian Gordon said an official announcement could come as early as the next three weeks, ahead of the 2017 season start.

The idea behind a digital push is finding the quickest way to reach consumers, D’Antonio said.

A partnership with Twitter would allow fans to watch CAA football games on mobile devices and computers.

With all due respect to the CAA the fact that we are having similar problems to an FCS conference is not reassuring.

Any deal that gives us the ability to stream games online and also leave the door open for syndicated TV viewing (via CSN, NESN, CBSSports etc...) is preferred. I'm assuming that is what the administration is working towards.

At the same time, I find it shocking that ESPN or CBS Sports wont pick up the opening game vs Hawaii. Football fans are starved for live games and will watch pretty much anything on August 26th, that includes two bad college teams from polar opposite ends of the country.

Bamford has pulled rabbits out of his hat multiple times, I really don't think I've been disappointed with a single decision he's made in his tenure. I'll wait to pass judgement until we hear all the TV details from the administration.

From Matt Sarzyniak's tweet @mattsarz

Looking doubtful for CBSSports.
Too bad as our own Jenny Dell is a reporter.

The fall schedule of Harvard home events set to be broadcast live by NESN is below. Please note that that broadcast schedule is subject to change. Additional dates to be announced.

There seem to be confused fans on Twitter. NESN or NESN Plus will carry the games on TV. UMass will stream the games on the internet.

The amount of concern by some fans in regards to home games is a bit disconcerting. Although I know TV games can be a good recruiting tool, the fans that are the most upset about the broadcasts are likely the fans who can't or won't attend games at McGuirk.

No more Andy Gresh? I know a lot of people can't stand him but I thought he did a pretty job. Him and Eric Frede are good together.

At least I can pick up the streams here in NC and be able to watch the games. Next year I will be able to go to APP ST when they come down this way.

Aug 26 Red Sox 4:05
Sep 9 Red Sox 7:10
Sep 30 Red Sox TBD
Oct 21 Bruins 7PM
Oct 28 Bruins 7PM
Nov 11 Bruins 7PM
So may be some NESN Plus with 1 hour Red Sox pregame or games taking priority.
Plus NESN GO app if your provider is listed.
