Ive been watching MACTION this week. Every team has been on. I cant figure how we would compete in that league this year. Probably better than years past but not sure how high up. I realize its hypothetical. Thoughts?

By record we'd be 5th in MAC East (9th overall). By F/+ rankings (S&P+ and FEI combination) now at #85 we'd 4th in MAC East (9th overall).

With that said, it's too bad they couldn't pull off the Ohio game, who's now leading the MAC. One sample is too small to really make any extrapolation, but the fact that they kept it competitive (and even take the lead at a few points) tells me they might be better than 3-7 if in the MAC still.

Up 15 to 105. Not a pinnacle yet definite improvement. Glad to note the trajectory.

FIU is 75. That's a solid team.

Everyone uses their own ranking system, I know, but I wouldn't put too much weight into the CBS 130 poll. Polls are notorious for an exponential loss of accuracy the further down you go in the ranks, they're OK for Top 25 and that's about it.

When you look back on the first six games of the season, UMASS could have won any or all of those games. UMASS was in every game they played this year, which is a huge change since they made the jump to FBS. Objectively, while the record is not that great, the team is so much more competitive than at any time in the FBS era- by a large degree. Hoping that UMASS finishes the season with a big win. GO UMASS!

Hope he does well in the Senior Bowl and draws more attention and gets an early round draft pick.
