It really doesn't matter "what" our opponents did or haven't done . . its ALL about UMass and their ability to find a way to lose! Don't care who they're playing something WILL go wrong! Hell, if you went by average team talent we should have 2 or 3 wins . . I mean how can you lose to Coastal Carolina . . ah but we found a way . . Nuff said!

This team seems to play to its level of competition (good and bad) and always find a way to blow at the end. That's all on coaching.

The Football Giants won. Why not us?

So did the football Chargers - they were sporting a big fat donut in the win column too.

^ The Chargers beat the Giants in week 5... Now 2-4.

Unless I am missing a pun somewhere along the way.

UMASS have lost most of their games by just a score, including a 17-13 loss to SEC School Tennessee. this is large in part due to their D

Heard an interesting point made during the App post game and not sure who it was. Used in this post on the csnbbs board.

------------

Know App has some injuries, but to be fair, no one gave a rat's a$$ in the past that we started out playing each year against at least three P5 teams. We'd get the crap beat out us and played the rest of the season as walking wounded. Every would say UMass $ucks.

As pointed out on radio, this was an important measuring stick for UMass. Playing Georgia Southern and App State that we competed against in FCS national championship games. We beat both of them and 500 against teams, which moved up recently, like ourselves. We've been playing teams tighter and tighter but have a long way to go. We still have Mississippi State and BYU on the schedule. We also have an improving FIU team along with Maine.

Today's game was a nice change of pace and looking forward to the day that everyone stops calling UMass a bad team.

Sites and sounds from the game.

We’re now at 120 in the CBS rankings. Moving on up!

For perspective, Tennessee out gained us 319-281.
Alabama out gained Tennessee 604-108, with Tennessee scoring their touchdown on a 97-yard interception.

Yes, we stayed with the Vols in their house, but that is not saying a whole lot this season. The string of  are appropriate.

There is noise on twitterdom this morning about our last game being cancelled. Here's one of the posts:

If we beat FAU we win the east division of CUSA and cancel Umass to play the west winner in the CCG.

We've known this was a possibility when it was scheduled.

No money, the game would be rescheduled for a future season. The game taking place this season is definitely the best outcome because it's two extra weeks of practice.

But right now FIU is losing to Old Dominion 24-14 at the half. Should the Panthers lose that game they'll be two behind FAU and will need more than just a win in the head-to-head matchup to reach the C-USA title game.

FIU ended up losing 37-30, so good chance now our game against them will take place.
