I just called 1-866-UMASS-TIX and got tickets in 10th row...either sec 108 or 109. Should be a big walk up sale so WILL CALL seems like better option. LETS DO THIS!!!! Get your drink on and be loud.

Strongly urge anyone going to buy ticket now and pick it up at Will Call at Gillette. Walk up line will likely be long. Tickets are really dwindling according to person at ticket office.

Posted this over on Maroon Musket but figured since there's a lot of buzz about this one I'd re-post it here...

UMass absolutely has to get off to a fast start in this one in order to have a chance to win. I'm talking building a 10-14 pt lead at half. I'm terrified of a scenario where the game is either tied / BC has a slight lead in the 4th quarter when depth and size take over the game. I know it's not apples to apples but we saw how our tackling and physicality slipped against UF in the 4th. BC has the advantage in that category and should be able to run the ball on us by then. If we can force BC into a comeback scenario where they have to throw the ball in order to win, I really like our chances.

UMass wins if 6 out of these 8 happen: Has 1 turnover or less, match the physicality of BC, score the first TD, rush for over 150 yards, 40% or greater on 3rd down, turn BC over 3 or more times (4th down stops included), allow less than 150 rushing yards, punt as well as last week to flip the field.

UMass 27
BC 22

BC fails on 2 pt conversion with 4 mins left - UMass goes 3 and out on ensuing drive and fans have flashbacks to every horror movie we've seen at Gillette the last 4 years - BC drives the ball down to the 25 and KBS picks off a pass in the endzone on 4th down with 30 seconds left in the game - High fives and hugs galore from the sea of maroon.

Can't wait for tomorrow.

Better to print online tickets. Will Call is just as busy as walk up window.

I really hope you're right. I'm not so optimistic, though much of my sense of the game comes from a void of knowing what our offense really can accomplish. I just think there are still too many moving parts, too many young players, and that we're still a year or two away from beating ACC teams, even bad ones like BC.

I'm calling BC 27, UMass 13 (maybe 17 if they convert one field goal to a TD). I truly hope I'm wrong, but that's what my gut is telling me.

I think Umass gets 5 scores and BC gets 4. I am hopeful that we get at least 3 TDs. But, I could see it being 24- 23 BC....I really just don't see BC covering 17 points.

I think the game will be much lower scoring than the current predictions 17-13 Umass.. Touchdown in the last minute to seel it when Whipple goes for the win rather than the tie and OT

What scares me is that BC is due for a "breakout" game after not tasting victory in almost a year . . . GO UMASS!!!

I'm anticipating that this will be similar to the Florida game, despite BC being an inferior team to Florida. Our weak link against Florida was the play of our offensive line, and while much of that can be credited to Florida's outstanding defensive front, BC also has a strong d-line. I don't think we can expect any consistent offense due to that matchup, which means we'll have to capitalize on a high percentage of our opportunities when we do have fits and starts of offense. I'm hoping for another decent day from the defense, but we play a gambling form of defense, and the nature of gambling is you eventually lose a bet, giving BC scoring opportunities no matter how bad they are on offense. In a likely low-scoring game (I'd bet the under), they might not need many chances. It's also guaranteed that BC will run more than Florida, and I think if Florida hadn't been trying so hard to prove a point and call so many passing plays, their run game would have given us more problems than their passing game.

Overall I think UMass should keep this game in striking distance most of the way, but without a noticeable improvement on offense our route to victory is much less certain than BC's. Some luck and turnovers would be much appreciated. It would hurt to miss this opportunity for a significant win.
