This game is going to look great on TV with about 65,000 empty seats surrounding the field

My guess -- real attendance = 9,000 or so; announced attendance = 13,000 plus.
Bamford has erased McCutcheon

Never. Band Day had announced at 12k plus. No freak'n way that many were in that stadium For Akron we're looking at announced of 10k, and real of 6500. Talk about a high-expectations season turning UGLY.

True, but we're just going to have to get over that. It didn't turn out the way we wanted this season, but I'm not going to stop supporting the team. If that article was right, we made some trade-offs that hurt us this year but may pay off down the road. We'll see.

But I've come around to the idea that really we are now in year two of Whipple, and it's going to be a couple of years yet until we really start to turn the corner. I'm not panicking until then, and if it means I have to go out to Gillette or Amherst and watch my team lose, then that's what I'm going to do. And I'm bringing friends. :P

See you there! Right?

Of course I'll be there. Doesn't mean I haven't completely lost my mind over this season. I don't ever want to hear "bowl game" until the invitation is in my mailbox.

How many would have been at band day had we beaten Temple and Kent State and gone into the Toledo game at 3-3?

Going to be a nice day Saturday. Hopefully the guys have some fight left in them.
Looking forward to the 2022 UMass Football Season (Oh boy, just jinxed that one)

This should be a fairly competitive game, and I'd think we have a chance to win this one. When Akron wins, they seem to win big, so they can score under the right conditions. Personally I'd like to see our offense do something, anything, in this game. Defense is not good, but they kept us alive at Ball State. Offensive miscues just killed us. If the players don't show any fight on Saturday, I'd have no problem putting in younger guys and moving on, letting them start to get experience. The next few games would be a great opportunity to do that if we don't show any life.

This is going to be one empty stadium - the over under on how long it would take to count by hand the number of people there is about 15 minutes... and that number could easily be less than 5K!

^ Maybe Derek Kellogg can make all of his assistants go to the game - that would double the attendance figure 8)
