It's no wonder the passing game looks nothing like last year or the year before. Not having Sharpe, or Shape + Sifrin makes a huge difference, regardless of the QB throwing to them.

I hate that excuse... It's not like Comis played a ton with Tajae. He didn't play enough with him to be able to rely on him. The passing offense being worse is more on Comis not playing well than it is on Tajae graduating.

As a DirecTV customer, I had a free preview of the NFL Sunday ticket yesterday.

I watched a good part of the first half of the Titan's game. The announcers had nothing but good things to say about the rookie starting receiver from UMass. 8)

Comis would not have had to play with Tajae very much to have been able to rely on him, that's how good Tajae was and is. His precision route running and ability to get open helped him set records here when Mike Wegzyn and AJ Doyle were his QBs.

The passing offense being worse is the result of several factors. Comis has not played well, particularly against Boston College, and he needs to be better. The wide receiving corps has not played well, and we have yet to see anything that would indicate that the current veterans have the ability to step up and play better. The offensive line has not played well, and while that was against two excellent defensive fronts, if they aren't able to block, it doesn't matter who is in the pocket. The running game has been missing, and without a legitimate option there, as we've seen in the past, defenses are able to key on the pass.

Next Saturday's game against FIU should be a far more accurate representation of where UMass is right now. The Panthers are struggling as well, similar talent levels to UMass, a familiar opponent from last season, etc. Let's see how they look after the 17th.

^ Agree with everything you said above and didn't mean to hijack Tajae's thread like this. I just think his absence should be towards the bottom of reason's (read: excuses) for the offensive struggles.

Tajae on the ballot for rookie of the week. It will be tough to beat some of the other "names", so vote early and vote often.

The Titans' offense is horrendous. Hard for Tajae to do much of anything.

But the head coach still continues to tout Tajae among that mess. Of those 4 catches today 3 were crucial.

The Titans were able to overcome two excellent catches by Tajae on a final drive by taking two very stupid penalties to insure the loss.

Watching the NFL RedZone channel, we almost saw Tajae with a leaping tip to himself at the goal line which he nearly corralled as he fell to the ground. Easily would have been a Top Plays of the week nominee, but for the matter of a few inches.
