An AP story by Paul Newberry that lists college football bottom 10 and does not include UM

Pretty sad to see Cal on that list. Glad not to see UMass on it. :D

Yeah. The Cal selection is a joke. They had an unbelievable amount of injuries last year along with a new coach and system. They will be better this year.

Espn's Bottom 10 made it's debut today... last year we managed to avoid week one. Not this year.

Didn't some movie studio flack once opine that there is no such thing as bad publicity? For now, at least our name is out there!
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

Ha, ha. A great recruiting strategy. Thinking of playing at a big time football school, but afraid you'll ride the pine. Come to UMass. No such thing as garbage time here.

eh, don't worry about it. We could be 2-1 and on our way to a bowl game after year 3 of our FBS move. It really could be a matter of a snap of the finger.

"I once watched three drunken UConn students try to have a fistfight on the frozen streets of Storrs. The first guy swung, missed and punched himself in the groin. When the second guy jumped to miss the blow, he crashed into the third and they all ended up in a heap on the sidewalk. Meanwhile, one of their girlfriends stood by laughing and soon fell down herself. I think her name was Eastern Michigan."

This is by far and away one of the most BRUTAL descriptions I have ever read about the MAC East. This guy absolutely vilified the bottom tier MAC teams. Although the analogy to UConn was humorous!

Yes and Whip took care of the reason they definitely ARE NOT at least 1-2 when he fired the Special Teams Coach.... Molnar would have never ever done something like that. Their kicking game is pathetic - lets hope it shows some improvement this week...

I'm not worried about it, cause from what I've seen we are by far not the worst team in the country. We are going to win at least 3 games in the MAC... It just sucks that this is the only place espn writes about us.

Hey the good thing is when Umass beats MoO and Kent State (and EMU), won't be bottom 10 anymore

Mentioning the MAC, as I posted in another thread, the CBS Sports bottom 25 includes 7 MAC teams. I know being an independent will be tough, but not so sure leaving the MAC is the worst thing in the world.

Hopefully, once the MAC schedule starts,UMass gets off this list, but in case you missed week 2. Hilarious.

8. UMass (0-2)

"Here, There and Everywhere": The Minutemen are splitting their home dates between home state locations. This past weekend's game was held 90 minutes east of Amherst at the Patriots' Gillette Stadium. The 41-38 loss to Colorad-no was attended by 10,227, or roughly the same number of people who will instantaneously show up in Foxborough if someone posts to a message board that Tom Brady dropped a used hair gel bottle in the parking lot.
