I remember it and where it was but never went to a game there. A little before I got interested in going to the games. I am not an alumni. Someonc can correct me if I am wrong but I think that Whirthmore is located on the site now.

Re: McGuirk Upgrade
I know that I have told this story before here, but the photo brought back a favorite UMass sports moment. There was a freshman football team in the early 60's. I walked to the top row of the stands and watched by looking down at their games on the practice field. I have a memory of Milt Morin completely dominating a URI frosh squad - blocking, pass catching, playing defensive end, and kicking. He was all over the RI qb whenever he chose. It was brutal.

Re: McGuirk Upgrade
^ A bit of balance returns to the UMass universe. We switched to the east side for one year, and that was enough of that nonsense. We went back to our long-time seats. Welcome back to those who toughed it out.

No need for anyone to buy sunglasses now!
Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades

There will be plenty of seats available for those who want to go to the sun side. I guess they're not so concerned about the television look.

Just saw this on Facebook. I'm psyched, this really annoyed me and we never left the West stands. Glad to be back on the home side of the field!mdogt12 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 23, 2019 7:02 pm https://umassathletics.com/news/2019/1/ ... ation.aspx

About time. Glad Bamford listened to the old-timers. Now please dump the grey uniforms.

For those of you that did not get to see the signing show here are a couple of things they showed about the stadium. The south wall will be taken down and a new scoreboard installed. Also if I heard right the Gridiron Club is going to have a pavilion ? built with seating. seating will be decided by what level of season ticket you have. They also showed a drawing of the bubble that is going to be built behind the west stands. Someone mentioned that Isabella would shovel out a path so he could practice pass routs.
