I like SoCal's comparison: Dana Dingle. I'd like to see Sampson take some more 12-15 foot shots.

I don't think Samp has that shot in his repertoire.

How can he not if he can hit from three? I know what you're saying because Samp doesn't take it but I don't see how it's not in his repertoire. Plus - it would be a huge zone biuster.

Because he likely doesn't practice it much. No one does. All about jams and threeballs.

^ Both Carter and Esho have added (practiced) that shot over the off season and before/after practice. Wish they'd use it more.

Maxie seems more interested in it. Good thing, because bad things happen when Maxie dribbles. Samp can use two power dribbles and get to the rim.

That doesn't necessarily mean a guy can hit the shorter jumper. If he doesn't practice that range, then it won't be automatic for him. I don't know what these guys do and don't practice, but the midrange jumper has largely disappeared from the game because guys don't really practice it as much as 3's and getting to the rim. Basically, I'm not saying Samp cant hit it, just saying that because he can hit from 3 doesn't mean he can hit from 12-15.

^So true. Some guys can hit 3's and not make foul shots.

He shoots a set shot from 3, not a jumper.

Speaking of Dingle, his brother played 22min yesterday. He was 1-6 (0-2 from 3) 2-4 FT with 4 boards and 3 assists.

Sampson's maturity is showing. Now that he's got his body right, he can do the things he wants to do. Kid plays smart and knows where to be and how to use his body. Always liked him but even I didn't expect this jump in production this year after the injury he had. Kid has raised his game a few notches and is such a big asset to this team this year

I have been trying to find someone who Samp plays like and I think the Paul Pierce comparison is very fair. Both average to above average athletes who can get to the rim and score along with hit an outside shot.
