Montgomery to Bowling Green

Post by MaxPower » Fri Apr 11, 2003 4:19 pm

Per Dave Telep's the Insiders.com website.

Montgomery, Hobson Picks Falcons

Scholarship slots at Bowling Green are filling up rapidly. This week, two more available scholarships were taken by guards at BGSU.

Austin Montgomery, a guard out of Indianapolis Perry Meridian, who played on the Bloomington Red team, selected Bowling Green. So did Chris Hobson, a 6-3 guard from Chicago Eisenhower

Very unfortunate, considering I like this kid more and more as I read about him.

It's odd that he would sign days before he was to visit another (and more prestigious) school he was being recruited by. Wasn't he due to visit campus this weekend? I was hoping Ian and Steve would bring him by Garber Field tomorrow!

Thats wonderful we were recruiting very hard a guy who ends up going to Bowling Green. That tells you something about the player and our program.

No surprise here with the talk of Lappas leaving and a new coach possible. Seems like a real easy decision for a potential recruit.

I really liked this kid too, too bad. I can't blame him he's from Indiana, wanted to stay close to home and with the talk about Lap getting bought out, who would want to commit to us.
