Game 32: Alabama

Post by MikeUMA » Thu Mar 08, 2007 9:07 pm

It's a pretty good bet that we're going to get into the NIT.

Behler reported on the post-game that we might get a game Tuesday or Wednesday. With our record, we arguably deserve a home game. However, with our fickle fan base, big attendence is not guaranteed, and the NIT always likes a good crowd.

We'll see.

Crowd = good opponent or UConn. Like you said though, it'd be bad to get a home NIT game and not sell it out. Embarrassing to our players if you asked me. I feel bad for ray.

The crowd will suck if we get a home game, guarantee it. I'd rather them go on the road, so we don't have to be embarassed by a half-empty arena.

Definitely a loss. Jesus, I would hope with 23 wins you could get a better seed, and not have to play Providence.

How bout Providence at UMass?
Retarded artistically. Idiotic in other respects.

UConn should not make it, but if they did, we will play them there, not here. However, if we did play them here we might get better than the 6,000 or so that I would expect for any other matchup we get -- except maybe Drexel.

Students don't even know who Bruiser is, Drexel won't draw. Plus they probably take our spot in that other tournament. Lucky if we get 4,000 even if it is UConn, which it won't be.

I understand the feelings about wanting a home game..., the guys deserve it. However, in the interests of building the program, I still favor the Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere slogan of Calipari.

We will not get a home game based on our attendance figures.

I'm not sure if I like the title of this thread. We still were the A-10 co-champs and had 12 road wins. I'm not saying we have much of a chance to make the dance, but any chance is better then none, and I'm sure most of you will still watch the selection show with the faint hope of UMass's name popping in there.
