It makes me wonder what was said at the half. It was like they were two different teams.

They were never "back in the game". The last 10 minutes were bad.....but the only real concern in the foul shooting. Horrible......I don't even know who I'm hoping they foul......

i don't thnk we learned much today....Life and Forbes played well in the first half, when the game was decided. Lasme was a man among boys......

One good thing, nobody played that many minutes, and obviously nobody expended much energy in the 2nd half...

Makes a game out of it? Did they ever get within 10 until the final score?

I wouldn't say looking past Oakland was a problem, Phil. They came out of the gates blazing. If anything they were guilty of coasting because they built such a big lead, not the worst crime.

I think this bench improves greatly with Brower (hopefully), because I don't think Milligan and Bonner bring a whole lot to the table.

Obviously, Ford told them to quit playing with any intensity and to be sure that they missed their free throws.

Seriously, I'm only mildly disturbed. Ford will have 'em ready for Pitt.

Can't wait.

No question the foul shooting is a problem, but I'm not too depressed at the final score. Ford got to rest guys and probably had a mix on the floor that won't be playing together too much against the stronger teams. They actually increased the lead until after the midpoint of the second half, I'm not exactly sure when Oakland started chipping at the lead but I wasn't anywhere close to sweating the outcome. Would have loved a wire to wire blow out but will be content with them never really giving the opponent a true sniff of winning.

We should've blown them out of the water at the end, especially with Pitt watching from the stands - instead we folded camp way to soon and almost let them come back into the game.

Hopefully that's a wake up call. But 2-0 is still as good as we can hope for.
IT"S A WIN !
That is the only thing that really counts.
It was certainly not an inexcusable way to end the game. We have two games in the next two days. Saving energy was more important then blowing them out.
Certainly foul shooting has to improve but enjoy the win.

The only real negatives I noticed in the game was. We had 22 turnovers and we shot 38.9% from the FREE throw line. If they can these two things together they will be in really good shape.
Go Umass!!!

Ford indirectly took some of the responsibility for their performance at the end of the 2nd half by admitting he was switching the lineup around a lot. He wanted to see some different looks.

I hope the whole team showers up and watches the Pitt-NU game from start to finish.

I don't think they'll have a choice. Ford will have them there.

just wondering ...with all of the turn overs, why did Tiki play so few minutes? was C Lowe at the point for much of the time? Forbes?
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

Early tiki was picking up fouls.
They may not be great, but they won't be boring!

Tiki was in foul trouble. I haven't looked at the box, but the turnovers sounded pretty well spread out, seemed like everybody contributed.

Interesting Stat

I know our squad hasn't seen much comp yet, but our starters are shooting 66% from the floor after two games. Not too shabby.
