Hartford might be another option. Don't we have a game at their place next year?

Not unless we strike a new deal with them. They're not on the list as of now.

Here's a breakdown of all available openings

I would not at all be suprised if BOTH Barbee and Kellogg end up with head coaching jobs for new season. Barbee is poised for options much bigger than Fairfield of Hartford. But both of those jobs could go to DK.[/url]

Tony has been a part of Cal's and two great programs. He was successful as a player. He has seen the off court side too. The ground work that needs to be done for recruiting the support systems you need to ensure compliance and meeting academic requirements. The importance of assitants in preparing and developing players. He needs his chance with the Xs and Os.

Either of those jobs, maybe. I think doing "both" would be a bit much, at least for a first time head coach....even it is is only FU and Uhahahah...   [/i]

The paper local to Fairfield has this today:
Tony Barbee, who has spent the last six years as John Calipari's assistant at Memphis, is said to be extremely interested in the Stags job — Calipari has made a phone call to Fairfield on his assistant's behalf. Barbee, a former Massachusetts player, last year was considered for the UMass job that went to Travis Ford.

Mike: Beat you to it. Check out the first post of the thread -- that's what led me to start it in the first place. 8)

Looks like Fairfield's a no-go. They're looking to go the retread route, probably with Fraschilla.

But now that Memphis is out, Tony will probably have quite a few interviews in the next week or so.

Some very interesting names being thrown around for the Fairfield gig.....Frannie No Pants, Gillen, Tom Moore.....

And Ruland to Seton Hall? Or Bobby Gonzo? Then Frannie No Pants back to Manhattan? Or even Fran to Iona? How is this guy's name up for all these openings? Didn't the ball bag thing turn people off him?

Barbee listed on the Ball State fansite as a potential candidate:

Funny that Lappas claims he made his living recruiting the Metro NYC area. Other than Dante Milligan who came as a transfer, I don't recall that pipeline of talent. Might explain why he's no longer making a living at UMass.

Ball State and Murray State are both possibilities. I'll try and track down a link stating the Murray State interest, but it does exist.
