You need to let the athletic department know. The new AD's email isn't listed there yet, but I think contacting Thorr has got to help. His email address is:
tbjorn@admin.umass.edu
or Al Rufe:
anrufe@admin.umass.edu
But I'm sure sending a letter with a check enclosed would be the most effective way to get your point across.

Actually, Al is retiring, and not on his terms. By now, I think he's gone, at least officially. It's part of the crap that comes with the lousy budget around this place.

You may try going right to the top:

lombardi@umass.edu

But come with your homework done and your numbers in order. Chancellor Lombardi ran the University of Florida, which I've heard has a reasonably good athletics program. He does not bullshit.

Chuff, that's a good thing, no? We need a no bullshit guy to do what has to be done for the dept.

I just sent my email message to the new AD. If you feel that a change should be made, then take the time to send him something. There is strength in numbers, my friends.

I just sent my email in, it was surprisingly easy to write, I guess I'm a little worked up.

I just sent my concerns to the AD. I hope it helps and I would encourage everyone to send a note to voice their displeasure with the program. Maybe we should start a fund to replace Lappas?

C'mon guys, lighten up! There are four games left in the regular season plus the tourney. End the season on a winning streak and have some "Mo" going into next year. When the coach got here he said that he "was here for the long haul." That he "was building something here at UMass." He told us all to be patient because it wouldn't be easy resurrecting a program that was so badly damaged. You know, a team that only played .500 hoops. A team that could ony win 52 conference games under the prior coaching staff. That he would take us in a "different direction."

"The work goes on
The cause endures
The hope still lives
And the dream shall never die."

How much time is enough? How much time is too long? How much money has to be lost in order for him to rebuild? I gave him a chance, for two and a half years, losing to fordham for three years has done it. He had his chance. Now someone else should get theirs.

Dingo, I don't wanna speak for Swampy, but I believe he was being just a tad sarcastic.
