Great news on the collective and returning players front.

VOR, idk as not a P4, but we are their farm league. They can watch certain players and grab them in the NIL. They also schedule us to fatten up their wins and steal coaches as well. It is the Wild Wild West. The days when Cal did wonders is gone. There is too much money the P4 have to pick away a number of players from the 1996 team. Changing the transfer rules back to sitting out a year, but added in a waiver for your coach leaving would help a little.

Our only chance is with the Massachusetts Collective and UMass Athletics earning additional revenues for coaches salaries and facilities.

Please support if this is important to you! It definitely makes a difference!

Thanks again to Pat and the Massachusetts Collective.

This is why NIL exists. The NCAA will NEVER let the student athletes unionize. To have the athletes become "employees" opens an entire can of worms that neither the academic or athletic side of the Universities want to even consider.

Another excellent link... thank you.

Athletes as employees is something that will never happen unless it is legislated. And I don't think anyone would like the results.

IV- I'm not all over the place. I'm in one place, and that place is that college sports, especially UMass sports, as they were originally conceived, are irretreivably consigned to the shitcan. And that's a damn shame.

That will cut down a lot on the school hopping and bring a bit of stability back to all of college hoops. You can still transfer but you have some cost having to sit out and wait.
Ncaa is not going to be able to enforce any sit out rule.
Why couldn't they? Are they not able to or not willing to?

Court case in WV said they can’t enforce transfer rules.

Ran across this from On3.com. It's their list ranking players who have entered the portal. Josh is listed as #25. Keon is # 193 and they only list the top 300 and I didn't see Robert on the list. Interesting reading.

It's not written into law, it was a temporary restraining order that converted to a preliminary injunction. After the 23-24 season that could change.

0% chance that happens without collective bargaining.

It’s pretty basic anti trust stuff.

Embrace something that is ruining college basketball and football? No thanks. I’ll live with it if it becomes law but the transfer portal is awful for college sports.

Ratings for both sports are at all time highs.

We also have a seat at the table like never before.

And I think we've done a pretty good job so far.
