I think the collective is doing well. At the same time they do not have enough money for everyone. Keeping Cross, Curry, Diggins, Keon, Jayden, DHS, instead of breaking the bank to keep Cohen is a trade I would make every day.

With Cohen and Davis both entering the portal on Mon and with what Cohen said, it does seem like maybe they wanted to free up some NIL.

Totally correct, Niles. Also, let's not forget that we haven't really had any roster continuity since back in the DK days. McCall had basically a new roster every year. How many guys have stayed here for 4 years in recent history? Carl Pierre and TJ Weeks? UMass has basically been a stopover for most players for the last five years.

Yes, we are good at getting guys to come here. So hard to retain them. They all want minutes and prefer to do things their way.

Can we possibly return 3 from our starting lineup and 5 of the top 8? If so, I think we will be competitive next season. Just got to effectively fill holes while maintaining a base of guys who buy in. So easy to say. So difficult to do in this era...

The Twitterverse is claiming that in a collective zoom meeting it seem likely/possible we will lose two more guys. Anyone aware or able to comment on this?

I couldn't make the zoom but my guess is Cross and Sool. Really, really hope I am wrong on both. They are both huge next season.

Freeman and Lasme were both 1st Team All-A10. I'm not at all suggesting that combo was better than Camby/Roe, but I would put those two up against Cross/Cohen any day and twice on Sunday.

I will third this.. that 2007 UMass team remains one of the selection committee's biggest blunders. Could have easily made a run to sweet 16 and beyond.

I have no idea why Diggins would leave, he's thriving here. Cross I can see. I'll say it's DHS and Foster.
