The only result that would surprise me is a blowout loss.

Time for Frank to come up with a game plan that frees Cohen up so he can give us some points. SBU throttled him last game with their 2 very large bigs. They also took 28 free throws to our 16. Other than that, we played them even. Fix these 2 things and we can take this one.

Unless they get very hot from 3 I'd expect a win from UMass. Should be a good game, 2 well coached teams that just played a couple weeks ago.

After watching the last 5 games, I am not sure how you can predict or expect anything?
Let's hope for the best shall we?

I'm hoping for a good crowd (at least 4,500, but breaking 5k would be great) and a win, however we get it. It's hard to say that they're rounding into form with the LaSalle loss mixed in, but maybe that was the swift kick in the arse they needed. Who knows. We need everyone is healthy and locked in for Saturday. If we play our game we can absolutely hang with and beat St Bonaventure, but they aren't going to just lie down for us.
For anyone on here, or any lurkers that don't know, this is the last home weekend game and kids tickets are only $5. It's also senior day and alumni day and they'll be honoring the 2013/14 tournament team. I'll be there plus 2.

A lot depends on how they call it. How much contact on Cohen and Venning will they allow?

Juice, 7k. Weekend, good weather, momentum, 2:30 vs noon. I hope they're pumping the shit out of this game to the local people & students. Promote some contests around campus. Whatever happened to getting a mention on any of the Boston channels about a UMass game? Gotta be some connections

Just noticed that SBU is on the road tonight at La Salle than back on the road for us on Saturday. That's the same scenario that we had going to La Salle as the second road game in 4 days. I hope they are tired.

Bona fell by 13 at La Salle last night. Write-up from their local press:
https://www.oleantimesherald.com/newsle ... c5cc8.html
Bona didn't shoot particularly well (.438 FG) but also only gathered 3 offensive rebounds, and 24 total. They're the worst team in the league in total rebounds per game, at 33.1. We're first, at 38.9. The glass will be a big key to getting the W on Saturday.

So does SBU respond after a L to LaSalle the way we just did? They are a tough team to figure out. Losses to Canisius and Fordham at home, L @ LaSalle and swept by Duquesne. Also beat Umass, swept VCU, beat St. Joe's by 19. They are 4-5 on the road and Umass is 12-2 at home. I think Umass will be highly motivated by the way the game up in Olean ended. I see it being a hotly contested game that Umass wins by 12. 77-65.

^ The biggest difference is that we came home after the La Salle loss and SBU has to come here. I just hope our guys are not overconfident after the VCU game. That might have been a factor in the La alle game after the win at Richmond.
