Re: A10 Transfers 2021
Yep, this is some temporary bullshittery.
Transferring sucks, but as long as coaches can bounce around wherever they want whenever they want, I support the players having a mechanism to find the best situation for themselves. The sit-out rule will start to phase back, but I still support the no-sit grad transfer rule. If a kid worked his tail off and got a full degree in 3 years, then yeah, more power to him.

You can't keep up. GMU just lost Wilson, their 5th leading scorer. They virtually have nobody coming back as the highest scorer returning was at 5.4 point last year.
Here's a guy we should look at. Normally I don't pay much attention to transfers from North Dakota, but this kid went to Williston-Northampton School.
He also had 7.6 boards.Rebraca, a 6-foot-9 post from Serbia, was a second-team all-Summit League pick during the 2020-21 season.
Rebraca, who averaged 17.2 points per game this past season, spent three years at UND. He has 1,121 career points for the Fighting Hawks.
Re: A10 Transfers 2021
The transfer rules aren't going to change back, but the extra year of eligibility is only being given to kids who played this year - this year was a free season.Juice Stand wrote: ↑Fri Mar 26, 2021 10:28 am Yep, this is some temporary bullshittery.

^ Yes. His father played in the NBA for 6 years.
Željko Rebrača (Serbian Cyrillic: Жељко Ребрача; born April 9, 1972) is a Serbian retired professional basketball player. After playing in the National Basketball Association (NBA), he finished his career with the Spanish ACB League team Pamesa Valencia.
His son Filip Rebrača currently plays basketball at the University of North Dakota

Most guys enter it after the season is over however guys have stopped playing mid season and entered the portal. I believe a couple players (not at UMass) have entered the portal mid season and continued to play for their current team

Re: A10 Transfers 2021
I've been super impressed with the numbers Ty Flowers has put up at LIU, but I don't know that I would like to see him on this team right now. He and Dibaji have similar body types and play similar roles, and as I've said many times, McCall struggles with substitutions and getting guys minutes. If you have Dibaji and Ty, I don't think either of them is happy with playing time and they will have difficulty getting into a rhythm.
Dibaji has had a rough time getting into a rhythm here in general. Year one he sits until what, January because the NCAA can't get their thumbs out of their a****, and then this year he's dealing with Covid pauses and the wrist injury. Next year I'd like to see him ditch the 3-ball and play to his strengths: mid-range jumpers, defensive stopper, and improved rebounding.

Re: A10 Transfers 2021
Off topic but Marquette players are transferring now. Crazy in my mind. Shaka is a really good coach- not sure why they want to leave. If I were those guys, I'd be jumping up and down that he was the new coach. Texas was crazy to get rid of him. We'll see how that pans out for the Longhorns.
Re: A10 Transfers 2021
Texas didn't get rid of him. Regarding transfers, not everyone wants to play his style. But I'm with you, I love to run around and wreak havoc

Re: A10 Transfers 2021
My guess is that Texas told him they would waive the buyout clause ($7 Million) if he went and found another job. If they fired him, Texas would have had to pay him the remaining contract. It was a win-win-win for Shaka, Texas and Marquette.
Re: A10 Transfers 2021
Don't know if this has been posted yet.
He's their leading rebounder, best shot blocker (1.6 per game) and 2nd leading scorer. The casualties in the A10 continue to grow.3/26/2021 - Duquesne 2016 C Michael Hughes (6-8, 240, 2★) is intending to forego his remaining eligibility in order to play professionally.
Re: A10 Transfers 2021
^ It’s not a casualty when a kid declines a 5th year of college basketball. Just assume anyone taking that 5th year is going elsewhere, the instances of players deciding to stay at the same school for the free year have thus far been few and far between, regardless of level.
