Um, right. If you want to get burned up about it, that's your business, but I think he's getting one more year, and only one more year, if the results aren't there. So ride with it, or check out and do some breathing exercises

looked like we were undersize... boys playing men... unable to score...recipe for a bad outcome. time to man up and not let the season go out in a whimper.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

I think his name's Mike Traini, perhaps a sports journalist

FightMassachusetts is the UMass 247Sports page run by Mike Traini. He’s extremely knowledgeable and has a good amount of sources within the UMass football and basketball programs

#1 This is only their 2nd game in around 17 days
# For Tre and Noah it was their second game in about a month
#2 The refs let SLU beat up on our guys until it was hopeless
#3 Their starting lineup has 3 seniors and 2 sophomores (although tonight they started 4 seniors)

I'm not a big McCall fan, but this isn't the game to measure him.
I think this game will probably to more to encourage Tre to hit the weight room than our comments here. Ya think?

I'm going to backtrack a little. I don't think he's wrong, and he did say he doesn't think the administration will make a move this year. I don't love the timing of the tweets, and It all but leaves a dead man walking scenario next year unless McCall morphs into Nate Oats over the summer. I'd otherwise prefer Tony take over.

#2 was the story. It set the tone and gave SLU safe margins at the most critical times.

Yeah, even though Noah shot well he had 4 turnovers, which is not like him. Tonight, the freshmen played like freshmen,

how much is it that they're freshman? how much covid pauses (which everyone says is way worse for underclassmen)? how much is Coach McCall lack of ...? We should find out a lot more in 3 days, when we'll likely see a red hot St. Joe's team. UMass gets the extra day to prepare and needs that win to have any semblance of an OK season. Need to forget tonight and prepare.

I’m more pissed off now than I was during the game. What am embarrassing performance. It’s hard to imagine a run later this week.

McCall is going to get another season but we better be on the bubble, at worst, or he has to go.

Waited a long time before posting because I’m so pissed. McCall seems like a nice guy but he doesn’t know shit! Okay so they extend their D you isolate and friggin drive the ball to the hoop. McCall is fucking horrible. Way too much talent for this to ever happen. McCall needs to resign. Yes I’ll take over! 😏

I wasn't able to watch the game (maybe that was a good thing) so I haven't commented. Looking at the box score my question is what happened to Ronnie? I thought he might be a key piece tonight as he's a tough kid who could bang with SLU. The stats are surprising.

I do post on here occasionally as well. I always hesitate to call myself a true journalist since running my site is not my full-time job but I take it/treat it seriously and stay measured as a professional would. I like McCall personally, he seems like a good guy, buy tonight was a microcosm of his four seasons in Amherst and that is not a good thing.

The same issues that have plagued the program since he took over have not been rectified, the biggest game of his coaching tenure here tonight turns out to be a complete dud and there can only be so much of that before he is what he is.

There is a line with the tweet thread I put out tonight and that was that I didn't call for him to be fired, but I did question if he is the man for the job here which is something many people have been doing for years. I didn't go that far by design before this evening but it has become clear over four years now that the questions are legitimate.

It's a difficult situation to be in in the middle of a difficult year-plus with COVID and everything else, but regardless if a move has to be made it has to be made. I don't think they'll make it after this year because they probably can't afford it and they'll use the upheaval of this season and COVID as an excuse, but as you said unless something drastic happens next season he's gone anyway.

McCall is a goner, whether it is next week or next March. I am in favor of finding a retread like Travis Ford, a guy who had success on the second tier, got a chance at the top tier and failed, and now looks like he has found a home for 20 years. There are plenty of options out there that would fit this bill. Tony Barbee for instance?
