We finished 5th so we play the winner of the St. Joe's-LaSalle game on Thursday. If we win we get to play SLU again. St. Joe's beating Richmond put us in 5th.

Had Richmond won, we would have been 6th and faced the winner of GW-Fordham. If we won, it would have been Davidson. In this topsy-turvy year, 6th is better than 5th.

Vegas doesn’t have much faith in a Umass run. Opening line set at +4000.

Don't assume that we will beat St. Joe's! They are 4-14, but Ryan Daly makes a large difference. He has played little this year but is healthy and they have finished by beating Dayton and Richmond. I'm assuming that they beat LaSalle in round one.

A lot of A10 commentators have UMass losing Thursday to St Joes or Lasalle. Can't say I blame them for the prediction.

^ "What have you done for me lately" mentality. We've owned LaSalle this year. Sure St. Joe's is playing much better but they are still 4-14.

I hope our guys are ready to go to war. If Tre was 100 percent I'd feel a lot more confident. But he's still only played 3 games in six weeks.

4-14 but in St. Joe's last 3 games, since Ryan Daly's return, they beat Richmond, Dayton and La Salle. Only the Richmond game was close. Our last 2 were easy wins for opponents SLU and Richmond. So yeah, it's based on recent, but completely reasonable.

In the 3 games that Daly has been back, he's averaging 23 points and 8 boards. He's also taken a lot of pressure off of Funk and Hall, their 2nd & 3rd best players. Funk has averaged 26 a game since Daly's return and Hall has averaged 16.

For the year, Funk is averaging 18 and Hall is averaging 10 so having Daly back seems to be making a difference.

Let's see if they can get by their city rival, LaSalle. I went to Penn for undergrad and those Big 5 games were everything you could want from college hoops. Double-headers, too!

I hope I'm wrong but I don't see this ending well... The pause killed any momentum we had at the time.

Assuming St Joe's beats LaSalle, it will be a closely fought battle between us and them. In their hot streak, they proved themselves to be as good Richmond. No better or worse. We were pretty competitive with Richmond coming off a two week lay-off and two days of practice, so I think we'll make an even better showing on Friday. And as I've said a zillion times already, our two best players had a layoff of a month. If we can get in our groove, we can beat most a10 teams, including a hot St Joe's. We really need Tre to be dominant. Even though we've only had two games since then, at least those games were against good teams. I think we'll be more prepared for St Joe's than Richmond was because Daly's been back three games now and we've got time to plan for him.

Wow, Duquesne comes back from a half time deficit to take the lead over Richmond with 3+ mins to play. If UR loses, it caps a very disappointing season for the Spiders. They can't blame it on the youth of their team like we can.
