I think you're referring to Ajmal Basit.

Yes, Basit, not Basil. Been doing too much cooking during quarantine.

"^Harvard, Holy Cross - featuring Ronnie Perry Jr. , UConn were among some of the participants. Talking about local, CR&L played a Prelim game featuring Patrick Ewing"

I was at the game versus Holy Cross with Ronnie Perry. Two of my high school buddies went to the Cross while me and another guy went to UMASS. Great games with Town, Pyatt, Eldridge, Claiborne and Donohue. My buddy's floormate in Kennedy was Lenny Kohlhaus- very big dude!!

We are going to be putting my mother-in-law's house in North Adams, Ma soon so I was talking to a real estate agent who has been going to UMass BB games. He said he went to 2 games last year and is impressed with MM. He thinks he will be a good coach for UMass.

Loved Jim Town, loved the Colonial Classic- local teams at the Garden-fun times. Wish they would bring something like that back. UMASS.BC, Providence and another local school.
I can recall Jim Town ripping down a defensive rebound and letting out a yell that could be heard miles away. I don't recall it it being a particularly significant rebound, but just a big one for him at that moment for whatever reason. There was a collective "whoa" from the Cage crowd at that moment.

I don't think this will help our RPI although they did win 20 games last year.

^ If fans are allowed to attend games next season, maybe Big Deli will show up for this one. 8)

There probably won't be a problem with social distancing for that one.

In my freshman year, I remember Town doing a reverse jam and thought-these boys are serious! I was sitting on the floor at the Cage (when they let you do that when it was a sell out). They all looked 10' tall from that vantage point.

Probably not 20-21, but maybe a 21-22 game with BC. Good chance that they will have a new AD in the near future.
UCLA Search Progresses as One Top Candidate Withdraws from Consideration
A reportedly top target of UCLA’s AD search has now withdrawn from the process.
Mark Anderson of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the UNLV AD Desiree Reed-Francois has withdrawn her name from consideration for the UCLA job.
At the same time, it appears Boston College AD Martin Jarmond has surfaced as the Bruins top choice.
Yahoo’s Pete Thamel reports Jarmond and UCLA have been in discussion, but there are items to still work out. Thamel adds that the Eagles have made a push to keep Jarmond.

I think a game with UCLA is more likely than BC I get the sense jarmond wasn’t the one dodging us

ESPN's Jeff Borzello posted another ranking of transfers last week, listing separately for Immediate Eligibility, sit 1 year guys, mid-year eligibility, and those that sat this past season and are now eligible.
Only 2 entries related to UMass: Sean East (#54 in sit 1 year) and Samba (#77 in sit 1 year). Nobody coming and nobody else leaving made any of the lists.

A few A-10 guys in various lists, but zero players incoming with immediate eligibility. Hughes leaving Duquesne is the only A-10 guy of the ~67 on the immediate eligibility list. Santos-Silva is #5 on the sit 1 list, and Martin (URI->UConn) is #8. Mitchell coming to URI is #32. There are a few more A-10 incoming on the othesr list. St. Joe has #6 on the midyear eligible list.
