I have a completely different reaction to Samba versus Sean. I was disappointed with Samba this season. His ability to finish at the hoop did not progress at all from his first year. He wasn't providing enough offense. The writing was on the wall when McCall planned to start Walker over Samba in Brooklyn. (BTW I'd say the writing's on the wall for CP, too. He won't be sent away but he won't be getting minutes unless he's making 3's IMHO.) Sean, I felt, had a lot of potential. I was definitely disappointed to see him leave.

As the turnstiles spin, I hereby dedicate this song to UMass basketball and the players who have passed through the program...

So Diallo will have to sit a year, right? Unless the rules change.

With Dominguez and Walker taking over the 4 from Samba, our 3 point shooting in that spot should improve greatly. Dominguez looks like a very good shooter for 6'8, and Walker's shooting has been praised by the staff but was never consistent during the season.

if we can get solid 3 point shooting from our 2, 3, and 4 that's going to open up a lot of room for Tre. He should also see his assist totals increase since he's very good at finding the open man beyond the arc.

I heard they are going to make big changes to the Curry Hicks Cage, removing the basketball court.

Any chance Bamford lets us have one more game there this season? We should lobby him to do so, even if it is just an exhibition game. I'd like to say goodbye to Curry Hicks with one last hoop game.

Anyone else in the same boat?

It’s not set up for proper d1 level basketball best you will get is a midnight madness exhibition should be in Mullins for practice purposes.

I'd love a midnight madness exhibition there.

I'd have to disagree that it isn't set up for D1 as we played two regular season games there in the past ten or so years. What is missing? I mean I know it's an old barn but we played D1 there for decades. Schools have done this in their old fieldhouses as well in recent years.

The holy cross game we had there under DK was awesome fun.

We need to have a special goodbye to the Cage. One last Cage game. Exhibition is fine. How about Amherst College or another sub-D1 opponent for that. Give the newbies a chance to play a game on the court Dr. J played on.

^ I hear you. That'd be awesome. Believe Bamford said it has to do with the inability to do HD broadcasts? That technology could have changed since 2011.

Not my area, but I know my TV at home is certainly different from the one 10 years ago!

Broadcasting issues should not be a big issue for an exhibition. I really hope we consider doing this. Despite having a bad back, I would like to be able to give the cage one last game with Tre and the boys. Students will get a treat of UMass basketball history too.
