1. We pick up a stud power forward who can rebound, defend and score.
2. We find a point guard who makes good decisions, doesn't turn the ball over and can hit the 3.
3. TJ returns and plays the way he did this year.
4. Tre continues to improve and also gets better at the defensive end.
5. The two signees are better than anyone we have on the bench,
6. The coaching staff figures out how to game plan and make in game adjustments.

There are more, but that's enough WISHES for the time being.

At least one of the current guys on the roster is likely to transfer (my guess is Clergeot if he graduates this year). With that spot, we need to add a big

As or McCall, I would say it is not a lock that he returns.. getting blown out by GW at home is a bad sign. My McCalldoza line is 7-11 in league play.

^^ 7 league wins?? That is an interesting tweet. You lose Tony and it's a total blow up again with the amount of transfers we will have. I dont know if it would be the best move but if they let MM go in season you have to consider TB.

The way Tre is developing has me looking forward to next year. The offense needs to go through him in the post. He’s been getting some great practice facing the immediate double team. McCall needs to just put in some set plays off of the double. Our perimeter guys will be playing 4 on 3 with ball movement. Baptiste is taking advantage of it when he’s out there. It makes me think there is a huge opportunity for McCall to find a legit sized center out there looking to transfer down into a starting role. Just need a dunker/rebounder who can take up space on defense and finish at the rim on offense.

I don’t check the recruiting pages so here’s my projected rotation with our current players and the grad transfer

K Mitchell, CP, TJ, Tre, grad C
East, Santos, Walker, Samba

Each bench guy is capable of starting if needed. They would also be more of the pressing/energy group.

There is no way they are bringing in a grad transfer C and putting Tre at the 4 unless something unforeseen happens. IF they are able to land Femi, he will be the starting PG and I would bet my life your starting lineup would be:

Femi, CP, TJ (or Preston), Samba, Tre

Kolton, Sean (I think one transfers, fwiw - I'd almost guarantee it if Femi signs), Garcia, Buggs, McCrory, Dibaji, Venning/other big - that's your bench.

That's 12 deep and I could see any combination of those 12 putting in 20+ minutes on a given night. I don't see how CJ cracks the rotation next season either but guys make unforeseen leaps every year so who knows.

The future is bright.

Let's figure out the "something great part" before we start trying to pick and choose who wants to be a part of it. I don't care if we have kids from all over the country as long as they wear the Maroon ad White and represent the school (oh and win games).

As far as I am concerned the minute they step foot on campus and put on the uniform, they are "instate" athletes.....

Only two more home games left. If you are able to attend one or both, check out the highlight video they show just before the start of the second half. Someone calls it the height of hype. When there are about 10 or 20 seconds left in the video, you will see a handsome fellow and a beautiful young woman coincidentally both wearing blue sweaters dancing enthusiastically. That would be me and my daughter Michelle. I know y'all gonnna be jealous of my dancing prowess. Me and my friends have gotten such a kick out of seeing that every home game, and I'm hoping to get Michelle to the game on Wednesday. She hasn't seen in yet.

Whatever happens the rest of the year, I really like this team and the kids on it. One of the closest teams we've seen in a while. They all seem to like each other, push each other to be better, and are willing to work hard, while still appearing to enjoy the game. Its really enjoyable to me to watch this group and it will be fun to see them climb up the league and hopefully put UMass on top again. Seeing guys like John Buggs who had a tough injury, jumping up cheering on his teamates, and CJ who isn't getting a ton of time really into the game and his teamates, or Randall West done with his eligibility still on the bench high fiving guys. Great bunch of kids we have so I look forward to the next few years

I’m expecting some serious competition in practice and preseason workouts. Only 2 guaranteed starters are a healthy Tre and TJ, and at this point I think anyone else on the roster could conceivably be a starter game 1.
