This is the most talented freshmen I can remember ever seeing and I have been watching since 1969. Too bad we don't get a bigger crowd unless there is bad weather up there.

I love watching UMass again. I love watching the Celtics again without Kyrie. This is turning into a beautiful basketball season.

Great to see CP get on track in the 2nd half, there will be games where he and TJ are an impossible combination to deal with. Sean East = real deal. Djery was especially impressive to me tonight, moving well on defense, making some crisp kick out passes on offense, blocking shots. Really valuable minutes from the big man. Tre is a double double threat every game and repeat after me... he's a freshman.

We had 3-4 freshmen on the floor most of the time and looked like a seasoned team closing this game out. Impressive.

Sean East has a 10-1 Assist-to-Turonver ratio. That is all.

I really like this team. They are young, hustle, fight for every basket. I wish more came out to the Bill but it will take time. If the wins keep coming especially into conference play then get ready. I still feel like we are a season away from top of the league.

i think tre mitchell might be as good as advertised. hit footwork is tremendous and his shot from the outside is money. even some of the shots that didnt fall in the paint were high percentage shots. they are going to fall.

east is an absolute steal. he is the captain now.

impressed with the minutes and output from baptiste. his offensive game is pretty non existence but hes a presence down low and forced a few poor shots from Northeastern.

these guys are fun to watch and mcall has them playing well.

GO UMASS!

Loved how the team sprinted off the court after East’s 1st half buzzer beater!

What’s the over/under on where the shot shows up in the top 10 plays of the day?

Quote of the night came from McCall on the postgame show....Who’s guarding Roland? WE are! 8)

The way last couple years have gone I was very worried about the direction of the program.

Seeing some of the talent on the court now gives me a lot of hope. It's not difficult to picture Mitchell, East, and Weeks being star players in the A10 in the coming seasons. The fact that McCall was able to identify some of these unheralded pieces and get them in here is extremely encouraging.

McCall's job should be safe regardless of the W/L results this year.

What a difference, like everyone, really like the team, the energy, skill and communicating on the court.
So fun to watch and a very enjoyable, completely satisfying win!

Really nice win against a pretty good team. I don’t love our shot selection at times and I don’t love the defense at times, but overall I love what they are doing out there. Not turning the ball over and not giving up a ton of second chance points will keep you in games and give you a chance to figure things out or get hot. That and generally competing on the defensive end.

The not turning the ball over thing is my favorite part of the season so far. And having multiple shooters (including a big) does a helluva lot for your offense. Then the press is going to look ugly at times but overall it has been a positive.

East is just a good basketball player who happens to be a point guard. When Mitchell’s strength catches up to his skills he is gonna be a monster. Thought Keon and Djery helped us defensively after a couple of meh games to open the year.

Good, solid game. Feels like starting to see roles develop, although those will be changing a bit if/when Sy, Dibaji, and Kolton are able to play.

I love to give game grades and here’s what I’ve got so far: Lowell B, Fairfield C, Northeastern B+.

As they said on the UMass Basketball Facebook page, Sean East II from the Atlantic Ocean.

And also a Cale goal. Two for us on the same day!

Amazing to watch a point guard, especially a freshman play such a steady floor game. great with the ball. never forcing some silly pass. going to the hoop when its there. always under control. What a fun team to watch. There will be WTF moments but so what. This group is building the newmass.
Coming 300 plus miles for Saturdays game and hockey later. My only disappointment is how empty the arena is.

There's a couple things that I think really bothered NE. First I think it was the switching at the top. Most teams run action at the top to create mismatches. When we switch, we are trading one 6'4 to 6'7 long athletic player for another. And if its a big its, they do a great job. Secondly its the energy off the bench. Unless you are a deep team its really hard to match. Now we just need to bring it for the next couple games. I think they will. This team is bought in
