KAEO: TJ Weeks
Re: KAEO: TJ Weeks
There is some news on Twitter in which TJ says he will have a timetable in about a week. Sort of a timetable for getting a timetable.

Re: KAEO: TJ Weeks
Something odd is going on for it to take this long to get a timetable..
Re: KAEO: TJ Weeks
We'll soon find out. I hope it's nothing serious.

Man, still nothing?
Re: KAEO: TJ Weeks
He said "In about a week" 7:50 pm on Dec 29. So maybe this coming Monday or Tuesday?

I'm still trying to improve my Telex skills.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

From Walfish:
TJ has played 10 games. We will play at least 32 (if post season counts). 30% of 31 or 32 is between 9 and 10 games. From what I understand, they round up so 10 games might be OK for a medical redshirt. Below is what I found. If anyone has more info on how they round, please comment.Josh Walfish

Few notes from Matt McCall yesterday:
- Team found out Sunday about Dibaji being cleared by NCAA and practiced him a lot with first-team unit to get him acclimated to those guys.
- Still no timeline on Weeks, and McCall wasn't confident Weeks will definitely return this year.
I won't be devastated if TJ has to redshirt (assuming he can get one). We aren't going anywhere this year, even with him. Having TJ and John sit out helps balance the classes so there is some positive. I just hope this "abdominal" issue is something that will be fine with time. He's got a great future and seems like a remarkable young man.NCAA Division I – An athlete must not have participated in more than three contests or 30 percent of their season schedule (whichever is greater) and not after the halfway point of the season (based on the number of contests rather than a particular date).
Re: KAEO: TJ Weeks
Found this from an article a few years ago in USA Today. Sounds like good news, if TJ can't play again this year.
Games Played
To gain a medical redshirt, the athlete cannot compete in more than 30 percent of her team’s games within a season, not counting contests officially designated as scrimmages or exhibition games. When such computations are made, fractions are rounded up. For example, if a team plays 27 games, the exact 30 percent mark is 8.1. For the purposes of medical redshirt eligibility, therefore, the player may compete in nine games and still be eligible for a medical redshirt.

The NCAA would decide on a redshirt by at least December 15, 2020, I would think.69MG wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2020 8:17 pm From Walfish:TJ has played 10 games.
