Best wishes to Weeks. And best of luck getting a waiver. Hopefully sooner than Dibaji Walker's.

Then given Walker's recent experience, TJ's paperwork should be sent to the NCAA via special delivery Friday post surgery, Monday the latest

Maybe live stream the surgery direct to the NCAA...Bamford can scrub in to provide some sort of play-by-play while laying out the case for the waiver

I'm curious why MM and TB are so confident that TJ will get the medical red shirt. The twittersphere consensus is that he played 1 too many games to fall under the necessary threshold.

I don't know anything about it, and I was happy to see they optimism from the staff.

Probably because of the rules and regulations described above in this thread

^ I'm not positive, but it has to do with rounding. We'll play at least 32 games. 30% of 32 is 9.6 games. If they round up, he can play 10 games and qualify. That's my only possible explanation but they seem pretty confident.

Maybe it's something they've already discussed with the NCAA and that's why they are confident?

Speedy recovery, TJ!

McCall mentioned in the post-game presser that they talked to the compliance office about the details. Sounds like they're pretty sure that they'll meet the threshold to get a medical redshirt.

Good to hear. As a completely far-flung speculation, he could put up some major numbers in his hypothetical 4 (5) year career.

Good point! If he stuck around four years and kept averaging 15 points a game he could break 2000 and have a chance the top the all-time list. Although after doing some arithmetic I would say we need to lengthen our seasons with some tournament games for him to top the all-time list.

^ We have a chance to play 34 games a year for the next few years (purely optimistic speculation) so 4 x 34 = 136 plus the 10 this year gets him to 146.
Assuming he has a normally healthy career, I'll deduct 6 games so he'll hypothetically play in 140 games. Dana Dingle is on top with 137, followed by Edgar with 135 and Lou with 134.

I don't see anyone beating McCoy's points record (2374) but if TJ plays 140 games and averages 15 that would give him 2100 points. That puts him at #3 behind McCoy and Mack (2183) and just ahead of Harris (1960) and Roe (1905). That's pretty select company.

I'm so sorry I spent this much time on an idiotic subject. Best wishes to TJ for a full recovery and a great career.
