I gotta believe that both Mitchell and Thomas will be ahead of Baptise. He needs to find a way to soften those hands.

Mitchell will be starting
Pierre and Mitchell are about as close to 100% locks to start as you can get. I'm guessing Samba and Keon start as well. From there McCall can either go big with one of Baptiste/Thomas/Chatman... or smaller with a PG TBD... and that decision may come down to how good the PGs are that he can get.

Are we assuming JL is gone at this point? Or do you all just not want him in the starting lineup? Valid if so, but I’m just curious.

Not assuming he is gone, and he should start until someone can earn their way past him.

No idea if Laurent is staying or going, but kind of feel like Samba did pass him last year until Samba's knee started acting up. I know Laurent had some injury issues of his own but even when he was healthy he disappeared for long stretches. He's a bit of a wild card for me across the board.

JL wasn’t starting at the end of this season when almost half of the team was injured, so there’s no reason to believe he’ll be starting next season in the event he’s still here.

Laurent's offensive numbers are ahead of Diallo in every category. He got himself in MM's doghouse, but the stats don't lie. I stick by what I posted, as long as he is doing what McCall wants, he should start, until someone shows that they clearly deserve to start ahead of him. To me, Diallo has not done that. If JL is not going to do what coach wants, he should be down the pike.

The stats don't lie that's true, but neither does the fact that he did get himself in the doghouse. The phrase "as long as he is doing what McCall wants" is a huge hypothetical since he didn't seem to be doing that last year after a promising start.

And who even knows if he's sticking around. If he buys in, I hope he sticks around. If he doesn't, then a change of scenery for him is probably the best for all parties.

He's a mystery to me like I said. McCall has known him for awhile from when he was recruiting him out of high school, so I would think would know what is expected out of him. It's just...odd.

Laurent may be a better scorer right now, but I think Samba is better defensively and a better rebounder. I like Samba and what he brings, and JL can be a valuable scoring option as well. Having both is a good thing

I thought Clergoet was the one he knew for awhile.

I think if Samba's offense catches up to his d and rebounding he could be an all league guy. Hope his knee injuries don't linger much longer...

I think he knew both guys. I thought he was recruiting Laurent when he was at Florida.

If JL is still here next year I will speculate that he has passed the McCAll effort/buy in test. If that's the case, I start him over Samba at the 3. He is a far superior offensive player and just as good a rebounder as Samba.

I think Diallo offers better defense and JL was better offensively, but JL was also a much more experienced player. Assuming full recovery on his knee Diallo could make a big jump next year, he looks like he barely scratched his potential last year. I'd go with Diallo, but that's not a knock on JL, he seems like an ideal 6th man type. JL will get plenty of minutes if his motor stays high and can give us a strong scorer off the bench.

It's not who starts, it's who finishes anyway, hopefully MM has more options next year that can compete for that role.

I agree with the thought that Laurent’s best role would be scoring off the bench, I think we saw that at the end of conference play last year.
