Re: 2019-20 season
^ For us BB junkies who are waiting for some real news, this is pretty good. I don't recall anything like this in the past. Good job by Amin Touri.

Amin is setting a very high bar for future occupants of the Collegian Sports Editor seat.

Great video!! Loved it
Re: 2019-20 season
This week's player will be TJ although it hasn't been published yet. Out of curiosity I looked up Ty Weeks' stats. Ty took only two 3 pointers in his career (0-2) and I'm guessing that TJ will surpass that in his first game. Ty had a limited role in his first 2 years, as the frontcourt had guys like Camby, Dingle, Bright and Roe for one or both years.mlaconte459 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2019 9:24 am https://twitter.com/amin_touri/status/1 ... 94881?s=21

In his final 2 years he averaged 11.4 points and 8.8 boards and he shot over 70% from the line in his career. Great memories from that era. Talk about a team that played hard and played smart.
Re: 2019-20 season
IIRC Ty's first year was very limited as he wasn't academically eligible. His first year playing may have been limited, but he stepped up in the championship game against Georgetown by shutting down Jahidi White, one of their main weapons.

Re: 2019-20 season
McCall said in his post VI trip interviews that TJ took 21 threes (7/game - math major over here ) in the VI and that is right where they want him. So TJ may attempt more threes in the first half of his first game than Papa Ty took in his whole career.
Re: 2019-20 season
I always loved his toughness and how hard he played. Here are Ty's stats regarding playing time. He didn't shoot much in year 1, around 3.5 shots per game.
94-95 29 games, 13.6 minutes
95-96 36 games, 18.5 minutes
96-97 29 games, 29.2 minutes
97-98 31 games, 28.9 minutes

Re: 2019-20 season
That's a pretty solid amount of time he got to play on that stacked 94-95 team.

Didn't Sr. play with some sort of foot or leg injury in his time at UMass as well? Kid was tough, played with a ton of heart.

Re: 2019-20 season
I talked with TJ for a bit outside of McGuirk on Saturday. He was wanting to talk about me remembering his Dad's time playing with Marcus. He was very proud of Dad's accomplishment. It took me a bit to remember that Ty was with us for two years - rather than one - after the Final Four run.

We could conceivably lose all 6 of those games. Tough competition for sure.
