I think it'd be fun if Ed Cooley got the job and then did a podcast trashing Pipkins as the explanation for why he was leaving. And, for good measure, added that he "didn't give a damn" about how Providence did next year.

Cooley is reportedly speaking with Michigan today.

I'd love to see him get that job. I love his energy and enthusiasm for the game, really fun to see UMass play against his teams the last few years. Also, the schadenfreude of it would be delicious.

Going from one of the best tacticians to a guy that is..... not known for his in-game coaching would be... something... for Michigan fans to get used to.

Well, no schadenfreude, but Cooley staying at Providence is good for New England hoops. I'm sure Bamford would like to schedule more games with them.

Phil Martelli to Michigan as an assistant.

This undoubtedly will be tough on him after being a head coach for so long. But a good place to keep his name in the game and maybe get a HC chance next season. Or maybe he will welcome the change of not having to be the person in charge.

I would think it would be tough to move to Ann Arbor after his decades in the great city of Philadelphia. Or maybe he's looking for something more peaceful. What do you think of the move from Juwaan Howard's perspective? Will he benefit from the veteran perspective or will it undermine his leadership as we saw with DK and Walberg?

I don’t recall seeing anywhere where Martelli feels he invented basketball!

When Michigan and Indiana play each other it’ll be a Philly reunion of sorts with Bruiser and Frankentelli as assistants.

I bet it will work out well. Howard could use a seasoned vet coach and maybe Martelli is at that point in his career that its a better situation for him. I'm sure the money is still good

I'll stick this here. Goodman polled some coaches from each conference and had them rank the best place to be a coach. Here's the A10:
