2019 Hall of Fame Classic At Mohegan Sun
2019 Hall of Fame Classic At Mohegan Sun
UMass joins Virginia, Arizona State and St Johns at Mohegan Sun in November. Other teams are Central Connecticut, Rider, Columbia and Vermont. Much more attractive field than we've seen in prior tournaments. This one may actually draw at the casino and on campus.

As good of a "tournament" as we've been part of since our NCAA tournament year with New Mexico, Clemson, etc.

One could argue Vermont and Umass should swap spots based off of recent history.
Re: 2019 Hall of Fame Classic At Mohegan Sun
I've heard that argument made. They would, however, be a major step up from some of the home games we've gotten from other tournaments.

That was my thought when I saw the 1st and 2nd tier teams.natwam2547 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2019 1:06 pm One could argue Vermont and Umass should swap spots based off of recent history.

Depending on how things fall into place but a non-conference schedule with (2 of) Virginia, St Johns, Arizona State then Rutgers, South Carolina and Harvard is better than we have seen in a while. Then add in 2 of these teams Central Connecticut, Rider, Columbia or Vermont for filler I guess.
And all these games will be played at home of within a reasonable drive to CT.
More games to come unfortunately no Providence next season.

I'd have to imagine we'd get Virginia in that first game and that we'd definitely play Vermont and probably CCSU. But yeah that's a pretty solid foundation.

I saw a tweet the other day from UVM (can't find it now) and we were not named as one of their opponents.

Columbia is still in the mix though, right?

^ Yeah them too. Any of those schools are step down from Vermont obviously.
Re: 2019 Hall of Fame Classic At Mohegan Sun
I don't think so. If they use the same format that they did in 2014-15 (when we were last in it), and what looks like last year's, we'd play Mohegan games versus the upper-tier schools only. We'd then host 2 games at Mullins against what now looks like Rider, CCSU, or Columbia.natwam2547 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2019 9:56 am I'd have to imagine we'd get Virginia in that first game and that we'd definitely play Vermont and probably CCSU.
