Presser pretty much says it all. MM said players act entitled and uninspired, said it was on him to change it.

MM needs to weed out these type of players and start clean. He needs to recruit players who play the game as if their life was at stake and who want and value an education from a top tier university. WB said something today that struck a cord with me, talking about the QB from OH I believe it was, he said I don’t care how big he is he’s a football player. It made me think of Harper Williams, Wil Herndon, Dana Dingle and Donta Bright. They (except for Bright) weren’t highly recruited, were undersized for their position but would kick your ass on that court. That’s the type of player UMass teams need to recruit, we are not going to get blue bloods we need basketball players who play with a chip on their shoulder.

What has McCall shown us this year that warrants another year.

Complete lie. I know someone that was at the game. Said there were 1,000 or fewer there. Smallest crowd I can ever remember.
I believe I counted 22 students (including myself) in section M, N, and P. Sad times. :(

I give McCall credit for taking the blame, but why is acceptable that after almost two full seasons we have a head coach who is basically telling us he is doing nothing right? I have about 15 percent confidence right now that he’s the right guy.

Who cares? Obviously, not many. I have become numb to the losing and poor play. Friends I know no longer attend. The program has hit rock bottom. It's actually worse than the 80s because back then they were playing in front of a few squirrels in the Cage. Now, after spending millions they're losing in front of a thousand or two who wouldn't be there if they hadn't already paid for their season tickets. Impossible to be optimistic. Maybe in a few years but certainly not at this point in time.

Prediction... You will see ALOT of Court Club members at the hockey game on Friday than you did at the hoops game tonight.

Can you imagine being this much of a failure in the corporate world after almost two years on the job at almost a million dollars a year salary! McCall is quickly, if not already, the new CM of UMass basketball.

Really embarrassing. Rock bottom. Fordham let them off easy in the 2nd half by sitting a few of the starters midway. They look lost. Unique always gives you everything he has but MM just totally kicked him to the curb this year in favor of his own recruits.

A couple of observations:
1. Unique is very active and does a lot of things that can help a team win.
2. Tim Neverett is an excellent play by play guy.

As someone who has said before (and was criticized for it) McCall is simply not up to the job and is in over his head.
He will not be fired this year and, even I, feel he deserves another year. If next years team in any way resembles this I think he will get canned and may take Bamford with him.
With the new Kennedy (Champions center) he should have a distinct recruiting advantage over other A10 schools.
The worst coach here since Ron Gerlufson.

I was one of the roughly 1,000 people there tonight. 1,000 might be an exaggeration. As for the game, there is not much worth talking about. It was probably the worst half of basketball (1st half) that I have seen in more years than I can remember. When you take into account who we were playing, it might be the worst half of BB we have ever played.

My only comment is about the play of Holloway and Baptiste. Why the hell are they chasing people out past the free throw line. Fordham's first 8 points were uncontested dunks because those 2 were nowhere near the basket. To make matters worse, they were invisible on offense. UGH!

^Those two got pick n rolled to death on those plays.

Sparse crowd for sure.

A couple of guys I saw at Rafters, as I was leaving for the game, didn’t show up till halfway through the first half...why rush?

The entitled types need to go or wake up.

They, or their attitudes, need to be replaced by the attitude Tom referred to in his posts earlier in this thread.

BLOW IT UP! work out terms for buyout (not going to have to give him full 2mil). There is ZERO chance I renew my season tix next year.

Left at halftime. Feels like Groundhog Day and I'm sick of it! Not asking for a NCAA tourney team just a competitive one!
