This is probably from a Nova fan since it was posted on the Nova board the last few days. I heard the Walker part but didn't hear the Briggs part.
If Briggs did screw up again, what a moron.

I'll believe this when I see it on the official website or from Matty V. If true, we will probably miss coach Walker. Briggs, I guess we'll never know. Hope it's all bs.

If Walker resigned three weeks ago, wouldn't that be reported on the official UMass athletics website? They usally post updates very quickly regarding the team. Interesting to note that website has yet to post the signings of Carrier and Maxwell. What's up with that?

More importantly.....if Walker resigned 3 weeks ago, wasn't the banquet less than 3 weeks ago??? Would Walker have been there if he had resigned??? And if he has resigned, why would the the New York Times, in an article about the next Fordham coach, call him a current assistant and not a former assistant???
I agree with DTM......until I hear it from Matty or the official site, it's BS to me. Or as they sometimes call it "I thought it, it must be true".

With the seemingly endless appearance of Mr Murphy this season, I'm PRAYING that this is bullshit and not just another bizarre turn to this year. What a freaking nightmare.

There is something strange in that we still have not seen the official signings on Maxwell or Carrier.

The 4/25 Collegian is up on the net. There is no information about either of these rumors. Briggs in trouble would be a tough thing to hide. I vote for BS.

To any lawyers out there, doesn't this equal slander if it is not true?

Conversely, it is strange that if Carrier and Maxwell did sign, it would not be up in the UmassAthletics web site.

umassathl;etics.com has frequently been out of date. That said, there should have been a press announcement - it seems, after the ProJo fiasco, that the athletic office has been keeping mum about basketball in general. May just be that Lacrosse, baseball and softball are occupying them.
