That comeback and win as one of the best I have seen !WOW!!I was cheering each basket from my love seat watching FS1. Shows what one can do when you play defense and with intensity...That was so much fun! :P

Just got back from Providence. I don't know exactly what they changed defensively at halftime, but I was impressed with the focus they showed. Loved to see Pierre go off, too. He'd been bottled up for a while. Great win, now let's get some consistency going. I'm curious to hear what Cooley had to say post-game as well.

GREAT WIN. Was recording the game. rewinded that bullshit 3 second call on Cobbs 3. Very bad call and could have ruined a bad night. Beat Friars and the refs tonight. Hope Laurent gets better soon, seemed in good spirits on bench.
I’m not posting this in the heat of the game, or after a loss. But when Cobb hit the 3 to cut the lead to 71-70, Holloway was LIVING in the paint. Refs probably noticed and had a quick trigger next time down.

Impressive win. Great comeback. Hopefully this propels them to bigger things.

Great win!

I think that Pierre hitting 5 of 6 3's in the second half after 0 points in the first, certainly was a major reason for comeback.

Still pumped up after that game last night. What a win. This team really plays up or down to the competition. I think if the Bill was rocking every night like the Dunk is then they wouldn't be losing these home games to Harvard, Howard, HC. And I say that without pointing the finger at anyone, because I don't make as many games as I would like. It's a chicken and the egg scenario. Can't have a rocking home arena without a winning program, hard to build a winning program with a 1/5 filled quiet arena. I know people suggest playing some games at the cage, and I think that would help against the small schools, but I just don't see that happening.

I think they can carry this momentum down to Philly and take down Temple. If the guys start bringing that effort and winning for one another every night out, then the fans will come.

When I think about skizz' comment about Holloway fighting thru fatigue, that could have been a big moment for Rashaan. Almost like a point where he broke thru and his conditioning and stamina increased. Could be a big factor going forward

Still can't believe that comeback. That was reminiscent of the grit they showed last season. Signature win, keep it rolling

I’ve read several comments in different threads from folks saying things like this about replays or being only able to catch part of the game on tv — don’t you folks have DVRs? Honest question...not trying to be an asshole (this time anyway)...

I wasn't able to watch the game, but kept an eye on the score and did a double take when I saw the final. Unbelievable that they were able to come back against a very good Providence team in their house with >10,000 people in the stands. I hope this serves as a sort of flashpoint for the guys where they start to get it.
“I think the whole second half, we had a higher level of energy and intensity than we had the first half,” Pierre said. “But that stretch really took us over the top. Once we hit that stretch, there was not a chance that we were going to lose that game. We’re going to do anything we need to do to win that game.
That's the sense of urgency they need every night from the tip.

Also, big congrats to Pierre. I certainly was questioning his production this season, and it's so great to see him go off and propel this team to victory. And so much credit is deserved for Holloway. As previously mentioned, he had a ton of minutes, McCall couldn't take him out of the game, and he is the reason Pipkins got that layup to seal the victory. Watch the replay - the way he clears the lane for Pipkins for a wide open layup is incredible. Good on ya big fella.

I get that you're joking, but we smoked a good Southern Illinois team with probably less than 500 in the stands. The box score on the athletic site doesn't even list an attendance. I think this team plays well when they decide to play well - they need to continue to learn how to create their own energy.

Last post on this and then I'm done. Three consecutive ... embarrassing.

Anyways, someone was curious to see what Ed Cooley had to say after the game, and man, even in print he's entertaining.

I'm disappointed the series with Providence has expired. They have played some really exciting games, going back a few years to the Terrell Vinson put back.

PC is going to be a double digit Favorite - anything less than 10 - I will lay down a good amount of scratch on PC - and collect easily.
How'd that work out for ya?

Great! - Umass won. If Umass had clawed all the way back and then lost - that would have sucked balls. I don't mind losing a bet like that. I don't do big amounts so it was worth it!
In Matt McCall I trust!
