Hard fought opening night win over an athletic, scrappy DEPSA team 54-47. The Cubs were led by Jalen Thomas’ 24 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocked shots. Daniel Friday added 14 in the win

^ I don’t think I have ever seen a prep team, or college team for that matter, nicknamed “Cubs”!!

Everything I’ve read/seen about Jalen has me thinking that he’s going to be an impact player at UMass! 8)

He's the #7 player in Michigan per the Detroit Free Press and it looks like he's the #3 senior. Must be some really good underclassmen in Michigan.

Jalen Thomas and Julian Dozier out for Detroit U-D Jesuit tonight. 2 big bodies to have missing in a big home game against Grand Blanc. Thomas is in a boot and crutches and might stay that way for a couple more weeks

I think he was injured a bit during the summer too -- hopefully he heals up and it doesn't become a trend.

Memories of Coleman... tons of potential but constantly injured.

Good news for Jalen. I'm not a medical expert, but a broken bone doesn't seem to be as much of a long term concern as an ACL, achilles, etc.

S/O to U of D Jesuit’s @bigj25_ on impacting last night’s game, in limited minutes off the bench. It was his first time on the floor since breaking his foot on November 28th, 2018. Looking forward to seeing him back in game shape and the return of “Big J”. Keep working J!

SirReal Smith, from Saginaw … got to be the best name I've come across in a long time.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.
