I suspect at 6'10" that his motor is pretty high.
I'd say more like his "ceiling" is pretty high.
And I see what you did there too

In Matt McCall I trust!

Jai Smith (@jai_smith131) a 6' 10" forward from St. Thomas More (CT) has received an offer from UMass.
Just reclassed from 2022 to 2021.
Is it possible you have that backwards? Where are you seeing he moved from '22 to '21?
This is where I got it. I see now that there are a lot of questions about his year. There were also other tweets about 2021 but they might just be getting it from what i saw.

Rising junior, Jai Smith (@jai_smith131) tells me that he has offers from Rutgers, San Diego State, Siena, and others. Smith says that UMass, Rutgers, Saint Louis, and Seton Hall all stand out currently.
Just to clarify, on Smith's twitter page he calls himself "22" so I guess we have to go with that for now.

Congrats! You saved the board from going a solid week without a post by 2 hours and 11 minutes, or some such thing.
Also, Jaylen Brysen looks really agile for a big guy in those highlights.

Thanks brother. Happy 4th of July.
I'm following the recruiting and I feel we are looking hard for kids that will complement Tre and looking beyond Tre.
Bryson is definitely not Tre but he's got good skills.
See who else chases him. Right now we are his only offer. I doubt that lasts the summer.

Looks like a solid rim runner who has potential to develop a back to the basket game

I think we can all agree that we need a big or two in next year's recruiting class. Have a great Independence Day everyone!!!

I suspect we may see UMass pick up a commitment on August 23rd from big man Brian Matthews. At the end of July that date was reported as his commitment date, and since that time Bergeron/McCall seem to have had some Twitter connections with both Brian and his mother.

I see where MaxPreps has him ranked 29th in Illinois. Impressed?

I don’t have a strong opinion of Matthews one way or the other. I put zero stock in what max preps says, but I think the combo of McCall & TB have been pretty good at identifying good players.

I think Matthews’ hs coach is none other Tommy Kleinschmidt — I loved Kleinschmidt back in the day at DePaul.
That’s all I got on him.
I don’t know much about many 2021 kids. I haven’t heard that we are looking at the Kyrell Luc kid, but he’s the one guy who I’ve watched a little bit of and I like him quite a bit. I think he’s getting overlooked because of his lack of size but man he looks explosive and was really good as a junior.

I recall when we played Tommy Kleinschmidt and DePaul in one of our early ABC games. I thought it was quite cool that we reached the big time TV during my freshman year. I also thought the DePaul coach was pretty good. Enough random thoughts.
