Looks more like an offensive tackle recruit than a basketball one. Not sure how he keeps up with a pressing and running team. Need to keep recruiting bigs.

All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

Both him and Mathews look to be bit of a project.. I'll take the one that looks actually athletic.

Re: 2021 Recruiting
Besides Garcia our high school recruiting that isn’t from Woodstock is disappointing
Re: 2021 Recruiting
He wouldn’t need to be much of anything to be an upgrade over MG
Re: 2021 Recruiting
I agree that we could some help with rim protection and some athleticism with size, but I would also like to point out that there are plenty of kids who can jump out of the gym but suck at, you know, basketball. The key is whether or not they can get better. If they have size, can jump out the gym and don’t suck, then they are probably headed to greener pastures.
As for Matthews, no real idea how good he can be. Hard to really tell from four minutes of highlights. He’s got a nice frame though and he’s young. He also seems like a genuinely nice kid who is excited to be coming here so I think he will be easy to root for.
Speaking of kids who have some size, can jump and play, too bad we didn’t land Dibaji’s half brother, Jabari Walker who ended up at Colorado. No idea if we ever really had a shot. He’s not a big per se but he’s really freaking good.

Here's a theory for you: Jabari Walker took the scholarship that could have gone to Ronnie DeGray III, so that's why he came our way.

No idea what the situation is at Miami. I do recall that we really wanted Cross for 2020. He played for Tony at Woodstock, then transferred to Brewster and played a year with Garcia. That makes me question Matt's relationship with Tony. If it weren't for the transfer I would think we had a good shot at him. He's 6'7 or 6'8 and he can shoot.Jon Rothstein

Jim Larranaga told reporters that Matt Cross is no longer a part of Miami's program. Was averaging 6.9 PPG and 3.5 RPG.
